Why in the world would they replace her? She's undoubtedly had a lot of plastic surgery.

So now every celebrity is liable to be replaced?
No one replaced her. If she died the world would continue on with no problem.
Pfft.

Faye Dunaway was a knockout. Faux Faye looks scary. Cheek implants, lots of eye surgery, teeth. Lots of make-up. I'm in. Impersonators are a more common ( and useful ) breed than one might think. Even Melanie and Antonio are taken aback!

Yes BP, don't worry, i wasn't saying that you've given us false pics, i understand they're both MEANT to be faye dunaway officially but IMO they are either both impostors or one is genuine and one is a lookalike.
Although it seems like the easy answer, (and i'm not the first to suggest this) does anyone think it's possible that most major celebs have an army, no, rather a gang of substitutes to be used whenever the real person feels depressed, tired, bored, upset, whatever of the normal celebrity lifestyle?

Unknown to many movie audiences is the fact that Zeffirelli is a practicing architect. He has a passion for the arts, which explains the opulent look of his productions and the kind of material he chooses to work on. When he made The Champ (1979), he touched the heart of his star Faye Dunaway when he used the proceeds of the film’s premiere to fund the construction of a church he had designed himself. This generous act was enough for Dunaway to convert to Catholicism. www.manilatimes.net/national/2005/feb/14/yehey/enter/20050214ent2.html

Are we implying that a number of famous stars have been replaced or that they just have excellent impersonators?

Are we implying that a number of famous stars have been replaced or that they just have excellent impersonators? Both. It's easy when one owns the media.

But aren't there times when the star is glad to have a standin for them?
And who owns the media..........The US gov't? The Crown? Bill Shepherd?

just a wild bit of speculation here....
maybe the reason elvis was NOT replaced was, they were afraid the real one would come out of hiding and ruin everything. that witness protection rumor sounded very credible last time i heard it.....i think they could stick the king in some backwoods town with an assumed name and he'd fit in perfectly.

BARBARA LUNA IS FAUX-FAYE DUNAWAY

BARBARA LUNA IS FAUX-FAYE DUNAWAY Well, BeatlePaul-----that is wayyyy scary. The overlap has hgh percentage of matching, only the highbrow arches and lower lip line exceed in edges. I assume though, you had to do a 5% widening horizontally on the ratio on Miss Luna? Which is forgiveable..... Lenses can do that in real time...so, in a photo shoot, or photo op---the right lens could do the trick......

She had just a sligth nose job. Eyebrow arches (orbits boundaries) are just the same. In both cases eyebrow fur is just painted. Tip: search in B-actors catalogs....

Fantastic find! Her carrer stops as "Barbara Luna" at 2000 when it restarted as Faux-Faye Dunaway.

Maybe there wasn't any NEED to replace Faye Dunaway in particular, per se...., but the media is the main motor behind forming peoples' perceptions.
This is why, for example, you see Jurassic Park introduce the idea of cloning, just before the the science community officially announces that they have achieved this feat in reality.
Movies, music, literary works, etc. are all unleashed upon us in advance of upcoming reality. In ancient times, people resorted to oracles with magic mirrors for revelation. This era's method of preparing ignorant minds of what is to come is through our media.
Not only that, the media is used to put us into the different moods the world elite want us to be in. The 70's were a time for love. And why not? The soundtrack was certainly there.
It's no coincidence that once NWA, the Geto Boys, etc started gangster rap, an entire new subculture was created. Not just a musical subculture, a sociological one. Young men started selling crack, started dressing gangsta-style, using the "language" associated with this very very SUB culture.
And this new, corrupted version of the black race has dragged the image of their whole race, and its very proud history - down with it. What does one think when he sees with a young gangster, mouth full of gold, $200 basketball shoes, $150 basketball jersey, etc? Nothing too good!
It's hard to believe that the powers that be can actually create an image FOR a race of people, an image that pretty much degrades them in the eyes of everyone else , and then turn around and sell it to them AT TOP DOLLAR!!!
The disrespect of women, the filthy language, the attitudes, the violence. This image was put on these people, and they didn't have enough decent, educated people among them to reject these images.
I just can't see Al Green going with that flow. Where would Mr. Green fit in today's scene?
Well, back on topic, I think there's a widespread plan in place to just throw everyone off-kilter, psychologically. Showing us faces that don't match names. A power challenging our intellect.
This power is challenging our ability to believe what we see! It shows us things that do not make sense, yet ordering us to accept the untrue versions they present to us as reality.
Information is released that completely disproves the official version of things, yet we are still expected to "believe" their stories, just because the powers-that-be are not acknowledging the facts, the truth.
That - in the end - is what the desired effect is. Corruption. But corruption by one's own hand. This is not about replacing Faye Dunaway, in particular. The desired effect, I believe, is for us to intentionally lie to ourselves. Even on the subconcious level.
To be guilty of self-deception. If we choose to believe the lies, rather than face the facts as they are known, then we are also liars.
And as far as "who owns the media?" That's not the point. The point is that whatever unseen powers guide and control world events also guide and control the media in general.

From Wikipedia.. In the 1980s, although her performances did not waver, the parts grew less compelling. She played Joan Crawford in the overwrought Mommie Dearest and the alcoholic in Barfly. In a later movie, "Don Juan De Marco" (1995), in which Dunaway co-starred with Johnny Depp and Marlon Brando, a reviewer noted that the actress "appears to have had a major facelift as she's barely recognizable." Writers Sally Ogle Davis and Igor Davis have quoted one unidentified Hollywood producer as stating that Dunaway's "deep-plane" plastic surgery had "erased her own face."
