BUMP!!
I saw 8 Simple Rules today and it featured none other than the man himself Don Knotts, it was a p*ss take of his old show and the "come knock on my door bit" having finally seen him in "real life" (as in not just a photo still), it's definitely not out of the question that he played frian, i'm still not totally convinced but it sure ain't unbelievable.

It is important to remember that he did star in 2 movies and he had many guest appearances on television during these two years. He was also very skinny and had a very unique voice. It seems that Frian had more meat on his bones. I just don't know how he would have been able to go back and fourth so much.
It's an interesting theory, but there's not nearly enough to call it a fact just yet.

too bad about don.... are there replacements in heaven, too? that is, one angel doubling for another? sorry.
"playing frian" is one thing if we are talking don being a photography double or a decoy employed for security reasons. things get really tricky if the assignment is for him to BECOME brian and give interviews, or fool people who the real brian had come across in the past.
faul got lucky, because there were a couple of british interviewers who went along with the sham in the begining. maybe frian didn't fare so well??

Bill was really the one intended to be a replacement for Brian. He was a more natural physical match for Brian than Don (and a much better match for Brian than he was for Paul). He had about the same height and build as Brian and his face could be made up easily to fill in the rest.
Don was obviously much smaller in build. In the photos of Don-as-Frian he seems to be bulked up with heavy clothing or padding under his clothing.
I think when Bill was busy with other things, Don was used for brief appearances or what not. He was like a placeholder, and Bill was the one who did the serious public appearances as Brian.
Bill did more than one interview acting as Brian where you can see a huge bloodvessel popping out on his forehead. That's what the character of Buster Bloodvessel in MMT was based on.
The Ghost and Mr. Chicken was an inside joke about Don living in Brian's house after Brian was dead.
Peace be with you Don

there is a picture on the ANTHOLOGY lp from the SGT. PEPPER sessions showing faul and frian near a piano. what more do we really need? i think we should flush this "bill was brian" theory down the loo [as i think it's known in merry old england]. just one good look at brian's teeth in comparison with paul's will dispel 99 percent of the possibility that whoever replaced one replaced the other, but if you want more, the source for 60IF stated unequivocally that brian was taller than his replacement, while paul was shorter than his.... [[[[[hey, maybe that's why you never see the doubles for B.E. and P.M. standing next to one another, LOL?? in the aforementioned photo i recall it was impossible to guage who was taller than whom]]]]]]. as i asked elsewhere on the forum, why couldn't we have a "simple" version of events....paul and brian killed and replaced by two seperate people, brian's replacement caused problems so he was "terminated", while paul's was a natural B.S. artist and ham who did better than anyone could have hoped. THIS version of events does not really have too many gaping holes, but even if it did......why would we have to fill them with preposturous scenarios involving transvestites, one replacement replaced by two replacements, two replacements both portrayed by ONE, ect ect. [*cue scary music*] IS SOMEONE SEEKING TO SPREAD DISINFO HERE ?? as george observed, "it's all too much". for crying out loud let's stick to the simplest explanation for the most obvious discrepancies, and strive to prove THAT, leaving all the other pieces of the truth puzzle to fall into place on their own.

Its been my belief that this place has been under control of people whos purpose is to spread disinformation for over a year now. They are doing an alright job I guess, but this isnt 1969 anymore, not everyone is willingly spoonfed what to believe (but the majority still is, which is why they are doing this). Oh well.. luckily I have discovered other areas online that like to gather evidence and discuss this conspiracy but have not been severely contaminated like this one. So its not all lost I guess.

I am desperate to see this in photos, mpegs or whatever, particularly "Bill as Brian with the huge bloodvessel" because that would provide credence to your statements!!! Back it up or we'll be ridiculed by "others" viewing this forum. If you can't provide sources then how can you be believed. Come on FM, lets be hearing from you more often than once every blue moon, and back your suggestions up with hard evidence, cheers, Plastic Paul.

There was a time (around December 1966) where Billy was changing from being Brian to being Paul. There was a time when both "Brian" and "Paul" had THE SAME nose... (and all the other face features on the same displacement...) Sgt Agent Pepper from the British Commonwealth Army.... And then Don came in ...

Yes there was, and I'm sick of hearing about it. It's not true. The fact is that they looked so much alike when they were young that it became incumbant upon the would-be-hip to be able to tell them apart so as not to appear foolish. Those of us who grew up at the time learned to discern the differences, and there's no evidence for the assertion. The "Butcher Cover" is not Keith. End of story. How about Mick and "The Incredible Hulk"? (Hulk not shown.)
