It does sound like Faul, but eerily enough it almost sounds like Paul. And I don't think that is possible. It is either Faul or someone who's vocal range is extraordinarily close to Faul and Paul.

XTC is an amazing band. Andy Partridge, who was half of the song writing team is simply amazing as a musician. He recently came out with a new album and also wrote and performed the theme song to the tv show WonderFalls. They do sound like faul and paul at times, but imo Andy is as talented as Paul ever was. I just love Andy's music, and i know if you listen to him you will to.  |

Personally, I think XTC just wrote very Beatleseque tunes. Andy Partridge can sound vaguely like McCartney from time to time, but other singers have done the same thing.
Gerry Rafferty, singer of the classic "Baker St", sounds quite like McCartney, and acknowledged that he was musically sympathetic to McCartney in his recordings. Check out his first band the Humblebums for McCartney soundalike songs. World Party's Karl Wallinger also has a McCartney thing going on a lot of the time too, although in singing he can wound like Macca or Mick Jagger.
