Those could be pictures of anyone. How do we know that is the so-called "Paul McCartney of today"?

I have a theory about this. I believe the Beatles did use a stand-in for Paul on occasion in order to further perpetuate the myth and let the public's imagination stir.
More money in the till, honey!
And I believe the underlying lesson we can all learn from these photos is: "Stay clean, kids! Drugs are for successful rock bands, groupies, and losers!"

yeah, and the whole publicity angle doesnt make any sense. i mean, the beatles were "more popular than jesus" (as john put it) they didnt need to "fake" anoybody's death to get more popular. they were popular as they were!

I didn't mean for the full amount of time. I mean for certain photo ops like the ones you guys put on this forum as proof. Ever think of the possibility? Just a suggestion....
You're right, Nine. The beatles were extremely popular, HOWEVER, it seems like many of you on the forum believe every little song they wrote, movie they starred in, and public appearance they made (post-1966), had SOME aspect of PID to it. You're all obsessed with the idea. Therefore, the Beatles are popular to you all because 60IF, Faul/Paul, and clues, are an integral part of your Beatles enjoyment. Sure you love them as musical artists. But you cannot let go of the 60IF element. You have no idea if you'd like them in the same way as you do now, had there not been an urban legend to attach yourself to.

Well I am not huge beatles fan (I have one album) but I am a McCartney fan from the later period (or should I say I like the songs he wrote with Denny Laine).
So not everyone here is on the worship the Beatles kick. In real life I am CEO of a medium sized company and this is the most I have taken part in an internet discussion for quite some time.
I suppose I just dont like injustice. When you look at the photos there is clearly something unsavoury going on.

I'm probably one of the youngest people in here. I never really thought about the meanings of The Beatles' songs before I came here, and that really hasn't changed now. I'm not about to go listen to the way they say every word in a song just so I can find some little hidden treasure that will unlock the truth to a conspiracy. I listen to The Beatles because, hold on to your hats gang, I actually like the music.

By British reporter Peter Jones, using the alias "Billy Shepherd." He said so himself.

Yes, it's a different Billy.
BTW, Peter Jones isn't the same one who starred in "The Rag Trade" and was the speaker in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" is he? Or was that another Peter Jones?
