I got the new Let it Be...Naked for Christmas, and with it came a recording of The Beatles joking and singing and playing music. Its very interesting and revealing of how they felt at that time, it also has songs that the Beatles never released, I'm very impressed by ALL of their abilities. It has them all singing, "Just a child of nature, I don't need much, to set me free, I'm just a child of nature" I don't know if this is an updated version of Mother Nature's Son, or if its another song completely. They also sing a part of All Things Must Pass, though that unfortunatly wasn't released until the Anthology. I recommend this CD just for the Fly on the Wall CD that comes with it.
John's "Child of Nature" is the first incarnation of "Jealous Guy." It's Jealous Guy in its baby stages. FOTW is interesting. I really liked when they started jamming on "Because I Know You Love Me So." Cool, cool song from what I got to hear...I just wish they let us hear more than Beatle chatter and a couple snippets of some songs. But I do enjoy it for what it is. Have you seen Let it Be the movie?
I did download the movie off of Kazzaa Lite. Poor quality. I actually deleted it from my computer because of the poor quality. However, I do have the clip of the 'Let it Be' song which is good quality. That's where Faul sings "there will be no sorrow, let it be".
there is a VHS quality version of Let it Be on kazaa look for the file that is approximately 830 megs big... might take a while to download it though =[
or you might be able to find it on IRC somewhere but i doubt it.
Yep, I caught that. It was very brief, but enough to illustrate that John had that melody kicking around in his head for a while. Knowing that that little semi-Imagine-sounding melody would eventually become something so deeply associated with Lennon's legacy was a nice feeling. It was almost like seeing into the future. For me anyway.
There is a bootleg series called "30 Days" that I believe is all the Let It Be film sessions in their entirety. That would be a big mouthful but if anyone is interested, it's all there.

Well, thirty days is actually the BEST of the LIB sessions; Day by day is a 38 volume (76 disc) collection of A Rolls, and there's another with the B- rolls which I believe is currently incomplete. Judging by what I've heard from the Twickenham session bootleg (8 discs) and Thirty Days (17-discs), Paul is ALIVE.

But you make a good point, and one that I have assumed, not listening to hundreds of hours of tape. To me, watching the LIB film was convincing enough, even only 90 minutes worth. Wouldn't that be the ultimate test? Forget photo sessions, lip-synching and music videos. This is the Beatles in the studio, talking and playing, even the stuff John and Paul wrote before there was Beatles and have never played since. How possible would that be for an imposter to pull off?
Total, I believe that Fixing's point was that the whole Let it be thing, assuming the existence of a "Faul," would've been ridiculously dangerous to the coverup, and ridiculously pointless as well. Think about it. If Faul was real, WHY would the Beatles agree to go into the studio for a full month, RECORDING EVERYTHING (most of which has been released), jamming on old songs, developing new ones, performing a (semi-informal) concert again and releasing a movie of their performances. If they wanted to release a new album, it seems they would have taken the previous approach of formal, rather than informal, recording. (overdubbing, individual instrument and vocal recording, etc.)

"Heh, I think if I listened to all that I would be DEAD." many of those who did listen to all of it ARE dead...
which also makes me drool thinking about how much material they have locked away in the vaults from the SGT. PEPPER recording sessions....it took the longest of all their album sessions and they recorded almost every note. the total yield from the LET IT BE project was much less. oh well...
