I know I remember someone had said here that Elton had either written or helped Faul write some of Faul's solo works. Check out this photo: Don't they look cozy together? Elton is NOT a small guy. He's rather rotund. Faul's arms wrap around him with NO PROBLEM AT ALL. I honestly don't think that Paul's arms would've been long enough! Paul was a smaller man ( in stature ) than Faul!

What a find! Look at "Frankenstein monster" shaped Faul's head!
Elton & Faul...more than friends... full partners in music (just like with Tony Banks).
Elton wrote many Faul's songs......and nobody (officially) knows that.....

listen to the music of BOSTON from the mid 70's....there's a lot of similarity in the song structure, and even a little in the vocals, between wings songs from the same period. yes the style is different, but the way the songs were constructed is very similar.
all i am saying here is that some of those classic songs associated with BOSTON could have easily been sung by faul and wings.....which goes to show how we simply assume things in the music world ARE the way we are told.

Can we be specific about what songs EJ has written for McCartney? EJ's style is quite distinctive, and I can't think of anything from Wings/sols McCartney that fits.
Also, Sun King (or anyone else) can you name any songs written by anyone else that have been sung by MCCartney?

That IS the most amazing picture. I appreciate Elton and Paul being friendly colleagues. Elton has a dash of whimsy in his soul..............it's a good thing.
And what is this occassion? Looks like fun.................
I have not ever read anything of EJ ghost writing or otherwise for Paul, not that it wouldn't be a terrific collaboration--------I know Elton covered Lennon's Lucy in the Sky way back and it was great, actaulyy, forgive me oh Beatles, but it was sonically much better than the original, although the original is remarkable on its own for the times.......but I ramble)I don't know of their being a songwriting partnership between them, but who knows, I miss a lot. (Wake up Perplexed....)
Could be an interesting musical move...............hhhmmm, I wonder if.....................maybe they will co-write some tunes yet.
Have the already? Anyone know?
Sun King!! Down boy!!!! Frankenstein? Heads are heads. A head is just a house for your mind. Some people have a ranch house, some folks a split level, and some people a townhouse. I am just glad my head freakin'works. (well, the times that it does, that is.................)
Well, I better put it to rest for a little while so that maybe it'll work OK tomorrow. Cross your fingers..................I mean, fingahzzz.....

Perplexed - incredible as always. S.K. I'm also curious as to WHICH songs were ghost written for Faul, & which songs he collaborated with others to write. Could you just name us a few? I know that Another Day was written by Paul & Faul recorded it. Paul's true style is SO distinctive!

Surely Mal Evans wrote songs that Faul sung during The Beatles. Mal collaboration with Faul finished on 1973-1974. During '80 years Faul was a George Martin creature. After mid '80 probably there were the collaboration of Elton and Tony Banks (officially Phil Collins) Elidor: please remember John's "How Do You Sleep". Full conclusive about.

This is in reply to what S.K. said about Faul's head in the Faul/ Elton photo. Here's that photo again: Now one of James Paul with his head in a similar position: Paul's head was smaller & rounder. Paul's eyes look larger, & I don't think they ever got Faul's ears quite right. Here's another photo of James Paul: Still another photo of James Paul: His chin looks different in the third photo. S.K., has the third photo been MODIFIED by the Powers that Be?!

JMO. No. I mean, I think the third picture down is correct. I may be wrong, though.

Of course SIR Elton helped SIR Faul write songs. So did SIR George Martin. Spies Like Us on Her Majesty's Magical Musical Mesmerizing Service one and all.
And dollars to doughnuts the new SIR Mick will be collaborating with SIR Faul on the next Faul album.
Do recall Keef expressed his displeasure with Mick's knighthood. It no doubt means Mick has given up any battle for the bringing of justice to Brian Jones' killers (Keef has also expressed in the press his displeasure with the open nature of the case of Brian's death), not to mention James Paul's.

Sun King - I'm not sure about the How Do You Sleep "clue". The song has been seen as an attack on Faul, but if this is so, why does Lennon sing "The only thing you done was Yesterday"?
Yesterday was written in 1965 by Paul McCartney, so why attack Faul's ability quoting a song he had nothing to do with? I can't quite figure this
...Just thinking out loud...

I think that it was just Johnny doing one of his typical double entendres. Paul wrote the song Yesterday, yesterday. I believe that it was a direct attack on Faul's songwriting abilities! Or lack thereof.
Just my opinion.

Bill was an imitator before the Beatles. Very probably one of his "great" imitation was Paul's voice singing Yesterday. Mal knew Bill singing that song. So the meaning was: Faul's only good was to be found for well imitate Paul's voice.....in Yesterday

Fantastic, S.K. I didn't know that about Bill either. My thoughts were the same as Billy's. Thought John was just facetious. Once again, thank you, for sharing your vast knowledge
