Yeah, they were there for some seminal Beatle moments, like the night they recorded A Day In The Life's orchestra climax... None of the Beatles ever dissed any of the Monkees; they thoroughly enjoyed what they were doing, especially on the TV show.

The Beatles were very fond of the Monkees. John compared them to the Marx bros. When the Monkees came over to England, the Beatles threw a party for them..Micky Dolenz wrote a song about it called Randy Scouse Git. Nesmith hung out with Lennon and played him a tape of Hendrix....little did he know that McCartney took Dolenz to see Jimi's show, thus purring Micky to hire Jimi to open for the pre-fab 4

I think the Monkees have embellished this story over the years. The party wasn't thrown for them. It was Paul McCartney's birthday party that they were INVITED to. That's why one of the lines n Randy Scouse Git is:
"Talcum powder on the letter, and the birthday boy is there."

www.beatles-discography.com says Feb 7 1967, Dolenz stayed the night at [FAUL]'s.

<Listen to the Band:Book>
Randy Scouse Git
Recorded 3/4/67 and 3/8/67
Dolenz: "It was the morning after the Beatles had thrown a party at some club in london. I had some girl with me, my friend was in the room, and we were sittin' around. I was litterally making it up as I went along. It's not very significant, but it mentions the Beatles and the girl in the limousine-who was about to become my wife. It was just about my experiences. There was a bit of social commentary about having long hair and being abused by the establishment."
She's a wonderful lady
And she's mine all mine
And there doesn't seem a way
That she won't come and lose my mind.
It's too easy humming songs
To a girl in yellow dress
It's been a long time since the party
And the room is in a mess.
The four kings of E.M.I.
Are sitting stately on the floor
There are birds out on the sidewalk
And a valet at the door.
He reminds me of a penguin
With few and plastered hair,
There's talcum powder on the letter
And the birthday boy is there.
Why don't you cut your hair?
Why don't you live up there?
Why don't you do what I do,
See what I feel when I care?
Now they've darkened all the windows
And the seats are naugh-a-hyde.
I've been waiting for an hour,
I can't find a place to hide.
The being known as Wonder Girl
Is speaking I believe.
It's not easy tryin' to tell her
That I shortly have to leave.
Why don't you be like me?
Why don't you stop and see?
Why don't you hate who I hate,
Kill who I kill to be free.
[Progressive scat vocals]
Why don't you cut your hair?
Why don't you live up there?
Why don't you do what I do,
See what I feel when I care?
Why don't you be like me?
Why don't you stop and see?
Why don't you hate who I hate,
Kill who I kill to be free.

Dolenz' wife was the host of TOP OF THE POPS.
Is FAUL's birthday in early February? Feb 9?
TORK's birthday is Feb 13, but he is the only Monkee not on the UK trip.
HARRISON's bday was in late Feb.
