Maybe I missed it in some earlier thread, but I'm curious, when was Faul's first public appearance? Paul died in late '66, so sometime in '67? Maybe the Pepper release party?

It's in the "All You Need Is Love" video, or in the roof top concert, depending on what you mean by "first appearance". Audibly his debut is on Sgt. Pepper. (If I'm wrong, someone correct me, pls.)

Just to clarify what I mean by public, I mean the first time he appeared before the press and we have pictures of it.

It was on December 20th 1966. That picture is taken from the site at: www.geocities.com/~beatleboy1/dbemi66.int.htmlWorth to see! Beware: refilmed version of that event is already out.

Of course his real "coming out party" was singing Hey Jude on David Frost. From the first note, the camera is close up to his face, maybe it was make it or break it..

yeh notice in the david frost performance george and john are never under sir davids control despite his best efforts, everytime he thinks they have calmed down they start playing little tunes and throwing him off track. I see this like they are acting like nervous kids, giggling with each other hiding there true feelings of "oh sh*t, here goes nothing!"

Lady Stardust -David Bowie-Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars People stared at the makeup on his face Laughed at his long black hair, his animal grace The boy in the bright blue jeans Jumped up on the stage And lady stardust sang his songs Of darkness and disgrace And he was alright, the band was all together Yes he was alright, the song went on forever And he was awful nice Really quite out of sight, really quite paradise And he sang all night long Femme fatales emerged from shadows To watch this creature fair Boys stood upon their chairs To make their point of view I smiled sadly for a love I could not obey Lady stardust sang his songs Of darkness and dismay And he was alright, the band was all together Yes he was alright, the song went on forever And he was awful nice Really quite paradise And he sang all night long Oh how I sighed when they asked if I knew his name Though they was alright, the band was all together Yes he was alright, and the song went on forever He was awful nice Really quite paradise He sang all night long
