Limelight
Lead vocal - Gary Brooker
I can see the glow of a distant sun I can feel it inside Maybe this day could be the one
I can hear the roar of a distant crowd They are waiting for me Calling my name Shouting out loud
Holding on isn't always easy I ain't gonna change my mind
Limelight you were all I ever wanted Since it all began Limelight shining on me Telling the world who I am Limelight don't let me slip right through your fingers There's a long way to fall After the years of waiting I'm gonna show them all
I can see the world in a different light Now it's easy to say Where I went wrong What I did right
I can hear the beat of a different drum Take it all in my stride Hold my head high Second to none
Holding on wasn't always easy Nothing can change my mind
Limelight you were all I ever wanted since it all began Limelight shining on me telling the world who I am Limelight don't let me slip right through your fingers There's a long way to fall After the years of waiting I'm gonna show them all Maybe the role's not easy, maybe the prize is small After the years of waiting I'm gonna show them all
You know, The Alan Parsons connection probably deserves its own thread.

Rush has a song called 'Limelight' too. The lyrics seem a little PID influenced to me:
Living on a lighted stage Approaches the unreal For those who think and feel In touch with some reality Beyond the gilded cage
Cast in this unlikely role, Ill-equipped to act With insufficient tact One must put up barriers To keep oneself intact
Living in the limelight The universal dream For those who wish to seem
Those who wish to be Must put aside the alienation Get on with the fascination The real relation The underlying theme
Living in a fisheye lens Caught in the camera eye I have no heart to lie I can’t pretend a stranger Is a long-awaited friend
All the world’s indeed a stage And we are merely players Performers and portrayers Each another’s audience Outside the gilded cage

Good stuff, Semolina and Ludwig. I especially like the Rush lyrics.

Does anyone know if/when a Live 8 DVD will be released? I was too busy to watch it live, and I dont trust downloading it on BT.
Also is anyone privy to what the "Macca" set list was?

Even with last surgery technology (1990) "Baglioncino" has many differences from the original Claudio Baglioni. For example: - ear shape - teeth shape - nostril dimension and shape - chin and jawbone shape - eyes distance (Baglioncino's is wider) - bad reproduced "sign" on the chin... and more...

I never heard of Baglioni but those 2 are totally different persons. The rabbithole goes deeper.
Maybe it's about time to compare the 80s and 90s Bono

And "Faul" style cheeks, BP, even though the original didn't have them.

never heard of him, and it looks like the same guy to me...

it's very clearly different to me. A wider face, totally different nose and ears and to top it of like Byrdsmaniac said those totally unnatural plastic Mac cheeks

I don't see what you're seeing. Yeah, of course he looks different, but to me it's nothing that aging and plastic surgery couldn't explain.
ear shape - yeah it looks different but nothing that plastic surgery couldn't do (I don't know WHY you would change your ears, but maybe it's a side effect of another procedure)
teeth shape - well, caps... I have 2 caps/crowns on 2 of my front teeth... I'm sure they aren't the exact shape of my original teeth... and if I replaced them all (which a LOT of people do) I could basically change them to any shape I wanted...
nostril dimension and shape - nose job
distance between the eyes - I don't see any difference...
badly reproduced scar on chin? - when you said "sign" I didn't know if you meant scar or cleft of his chin... I see a mark thats in the same location and is a little bit lighter because of makeup or because his skin is more taught from a face lift...
he's definitely had a face lift, as the creases that run from sides of his nose to the sides of his mouth are actually shallower now that he is like 30 years older!
but I see no definitive difference there...

It's an example about WHAT plastic surgery NOW can do... Just being a good/excellent or natural voice imitator.... the rest could be changed.... but not ALL.... Maybe it's about time to compare the 80s and 90s Bono Bono who? Big Ears Bono (90s) or Small Ears Bono (80s) That's is just the first clue....

if you look at a picture of my grandfather from about 30 years ago, his ears are markedly smaller than they are now... the ears grow.
