Few people even remember the real Paul, as this jackass has been doing his impersonation act for over 30 years. He is nothing but a stooge.

this "jackass" has done a great job for 30 yrs eh mate? If you like his music, fine. I personally can't take to the music or the man. His personality, and mean spirit are more insulting to the memory of James Paul than a few lousy records.

Faul Ramone wrote: "pauls vocals are amazing.." I know some people have wondered whether some of the vocals on C&C are actually Paul, but just a reminder that BeatlePaul has asked us not to refer to Faul as "Paul".

people wonder about c&c being paul because they can't explain the beauty in the voice from that disc..they'd love it to sound like an 70 something year old man...'but it sounds like paul... all i know is i can't get the melodies from it from sneaking in everyday since i bought it.. wasn't jpm a great melody writer???

Yes, he really did, but I can't seem to find the post, even using the search engine. It was about 4 months ago, and his words were like: "I've noticed some people are starting to refer to Faul as 'Paul'. Please, not on this site." That may not be an exact quote, but it's close.

The same kind of mental processes (?) that ARRIVED at PaperbackWriter, WeCanWorkItOut, Rigby, Yesterday, Looking Thru You, I'veJustSeenaFace, I'llFollowtheSun, GooddaySunshine, Michelle, GettingBetter, GetYouIntoMyLife, so many others-----IMO, are involvd in the writing of several--but not all---of the tunes on C&C. And strangely, a weird thought, so stone me, but Fine Line seems to be a ---collaboration............between......two streams of thought....... I am seeing two people locked in a room somewhere with two guitars, a piano, a tape deck, and copious snacks. Not all of them vegetarian, either.............

faul and jeff (feff?) lynne, most likely. at this point the notion of paul being alive since late '66 is more mindblowing than of him NOT being.

Perplexed, you mentioned you thought you heard JPM's voice a minute and six seconds into "Follow Me" on the C&C album, on the NIR site; reply #16. invanddis.proboards29.com/index.cgi?board=Clues&action=display&thread=1126774851Would that be this part: (?) "Down the track of lonelines, down the path of love Through the words of heartache, to the end On the shores of sorrow, where the waves of hope crash in The perfect place for me to find a friend. " I could imagine that being sung by JPM, as well as some of the harmony in the final verse and chorus. (Interesting lyrics there, btw.) I'm not saying it is, but I ain't sayin' it ain't either! Twin Freaks indeed! Incidentally, when I hear the song "Anyway", I keep wanting to think it's JPM singing these lines of it: "In my soul is constant yearning, Always singing; singing this song." And "If we could be closer longer, that would help me; Help me so much. We can cure each others' sorrow. Won't you please, please, please get in touch?" The way the song is written, it almost sounds as if it's supposed to be sung by two people "trading off" each other. So then I get to think of how on the tour Faul has decided to do more of the olde Beatle material, and I picture JPM hidden under the stage doing the guitar work. But, getting back to the original question, Are those the lines that sound like JPM to you Perplexed? And are you still thinking it sounds like him?

But, getting back to the original question, Are those the lines that sound like JPM to you Perplexed? And are you still thinking it sounds like him? Yes, those are the lyrics I was referring to. Sometimes the "Follow me, follow me" also has, well, gives me that impression. And yes, "Anyway", I thought pretty much the same thing you did. I think the idea of JPM "hidden under the stage" presents insurmountable security and confidentiality issues. lol The guitarist "in the iron mask"......... Although, as I listened to moments in the concert, I was tempted to think, "Whut? Where is he?" Maybe a satellite link-up? I AM KIDDING! PLease do not think I believe that they had JP hidden away in the wings somewhere singing into a remote mic. All that goes to far into the improbable realms............ I know its weird, but you know, I just hear billy as having this very distinct type of sound and delivery for "Band on the Run" as opposed to even "Driving Rain". Even so, for me, in general, there is a recognizable vocal similarity from the White Album thru certain songs on C&C. But, then, there are these exceptions..... Then I come to these seemingly "JPM" moments, and its like he's in a different vocal territory. I have no explanations. I saw him sing every note-----I think lip synching would have been apparent and it was not. Not that I villify the selective use of pre-tracking: it's done on Broadway and elsewhere in spots in a show where you have to guarantee that the vocal is present for technical contingencies, etc. Now, Madonna and others (I take this from comments made by Sir Elton at some public awards ceremony) have taken it too far--to a point where it violates the concept of a "live performance." There are times for its judicious use. [As I understand it, Sir Elton avoids it entirely.] But, the times I seemed to have heard JP was during clearly what was live singing by billy. So, he was reproducing the early JP style perfectly. Now, EQ can help, in fact, EQ can be a singer's good friend and where I work, the soundman's hand is never "far from the knob." (Or sliders or whatever digital doo-lolly.) But, yes, C&C, I listen, I hear billy, then I hear what I think of as JPM. What can I say? And, as well, I seem to hear a JPM who is older, a more mature voice box, as if he is around somewhere, singing. I don't hear a twenty five year old voice, cause well, that is not what I hear. So, he's among us, or they've found an amazing sound-a-like, or, they've always HAD a major sound-a-like, at will. Or, should I say, IN will? Or, will you tell me? Or, won't you? What can one say? ! Wow! You don't say?! That'sOKthat'sOKdon't tell me...........Leave me some mystery. Who would I be if I wasn't Perplexed? OK, when I type in billy, I read billy. Why is that? billy billy billy billy billy Surpall Serp Awl Su'Pahl Supoll Is there a on that name?

Sirpaul
BeatlePaul, there's a mysterious board glitch. Surely, this was not programmed on purpose. You see, when I try to type in billy, all I get is billy. I am typing billy there, and then reading billy.
If I type billy, I should see billy, NOT billy.
Is I type William, what does it read?
billy Bob Thorton, billy Mumy, billy Bigelow, billy Budd, billy Graham, billy the Kid, billy Elliot, billy goat, billy Jack, billy Shatner, billy Holliday, billy Burke.

Allowed: Faul, Bill, Billy, Billy Shepherd, Billy Shears, Faux-Paul. Alright then. But, how does William sit with you? or Paul? I mean, or I think I meant, James Paul. How do we avoid using the last name of "Mc.........." (not knowing what name will read in the post) Surely, we have to sometimes put the last name of "McC...." into the post to make any sense. It's going to turn eveything into "billy" this and "billy" that. I don't mean to bill-labor the point; but if it's always "Billy" then , if someone refers to a pre-1966 James Paul, will he get "billy" there too? I guess I'll post this and see. Couldn't this become very confusing?

OK, OK, I see you can type "Paul " and get "Paul. The system will allow that to pass. It bears the name Paul.
Oops. You've turned TKIN! into a "Paul-bearing Bill-board".
Or, was it always?.........................
