Art Critics Reconsider 'Paul McCartney Is Dead' Myth
September 26, 2005, 7:17:27 New York's top art critics are refuelling the rock 'n' roll myth that PAUL McCARTNEY died over three decades ago - after taking a rare close-up view of his paintings.
Top Big Apple celebrity art expert BAIRD JONES staged a one-night exhibition of JOHN LENNON and McCartney art from his own personal collection at New York club Deep earlier this month (15SEP05) and was left stunned by the reactions of his "austere" friends.
A fan of McCartney's art for years, Jones admits it took the opinions of his critical pals to make him realise that the 'Paul is dead' rumours that started in the late 1960s could be true.
At last.....
Just opening our eyes....

This article cites Willem de Kooning as an influence. A couple to illustrate: http://*banned link*/Shoebox/Bill_Artwork/Bill_Art09.jpg[/img] http://*banned link*/Shoebox/Bill_Artwork/Bill_Art10.jpg[/img]

That is truly amazing! I noticed that it was dated Sept. 05. Has anyone heard any kind of follow up to this? I wonder if the "Powers That Be" have stuffed a cork in 'em yet?
The use of the color red in those paintings are kinda freaky. It's like he's intentionally sticking red in where it absolutely does not work.

I know what you mean, but it's quite artistic IMO.
I'm sure a true artist will tell you that you don't need to paint the trees brown and green just because they are in real life.

True - And he's using a very blood-red shade of red as well.
And does this have anything to do with the red/yellow contrast thing that is so apparent on Sgt. Pepper??? Hmmmm......

BTW - I've forwarded the link to that story to many non-believing friends. I can't wait to hear the reaction!
Y'know, this should be Earth-shattering news, and there should DEFINATELY be some kind of followup by now, since it was last Sept. Is there no more about this anywhere???

Let us also not forget about the first Rickenbacker bass that he took delivery of. He'd had it custom painted with a big red blood splatter across the front.
Then there's the empty cherry bowl on his first solo LP. And the red rose stuck in his mouth on "Red Rose Speedway"....
Gee - do ya think he's trying to tell us something???
Can someone conjure up a good photo of that particular bass?

Thanks Plastic Paul! It's still kinda hard to see in those pics. The last link wouldn't work at all.
It's another really obvious clue that was overlooked way back when this first broke. It's amazing how many clues went un-noticed.

Meanwhile in other news comedian Seth Rogen was so intimidated when he found himself standing near billy McCartney at a fundraiser he couldn't stop thinking about kicking him in the crotch.
The Knocked Up actor was unable to stop himself from fantasising about injuring the ex-Beatle for no reason, knowing such an assault would catapult him to international notoriety.
He says, "Afterwards, Paul McCartney was in the room with us.
"There was a point where he was three feet away from me and all I kept thinking was, 'If I run up and kick him in the crotch right now, I'll be the most famous man alive. "'My name will be announced on every news channel in the universe for being the guy who, for no reason, kicked Paul McCartney in the crotch.'"
