You have made a tremendous point. There would not have been Beatles (worldwide) without Brian's help.
I think rivals of Britain, or people hating Britain's sucess with this group, lead to the tragedy. Not the Rolling Stones, not the CIA, not the Illuminated ones, not the Grand Poo-Bahs Internationale.
Not unless it was in-fighting. Rivals within an inside group. This would be very hard for the unwashed mass of outsiders like us to analyze! You can't see the inner divisions of an entity when it is hard just to see the broad outside of the entity!
But I think an angry person(s) and jealous person(s) instigated this whole affair.
The KKK , as far as being part of a "sinister international assasination plot" is just , to a Souther American, a hilarious idea. They would not even want to set foot in Europe. They think all Europe is covered with "fags.'etc. (Sorry about not being PC, I don't agree with the thought or the terminology used, but this reflects how they write in their ravings.)
English speakers in the UK would be horrified and amused with their accent. (No offense; recordings of my speaking voice at a young age are hilarious to hear. I've worked on eliminating a lot of my accent.) American KKK members would just have been glad for Brian and the Beatles to leave the country and go home!
NO, no, some unknown something inside something else must have reared its head up and attacked. I think it stunned the better known powers that be, in general.
Sometimes I consider that maybe an Eastern group being motivated as well, (see Phillipines, USSR, China, others). We have been told that the Islamic and the communist worlds both viewed the western rock scene as invasive and decadent.
Jewish people have had to face unfair and violent treatment off and on for many centuries. Especially high profile ones. Treatment of our fellow man that springs from hate is wrong.
What an ugly picture. Perhaps Paul was vigorously defending Brian in that tragic situation. Perhaps a struggle ensued that was most unfortunate. Perhaps Paul gave it all to protect his friend and manager.
We may never know the exact progression.
It is just possible that EVEN the intelligence agencies don't know, for sure, the full series of events, either.
The compromises that have been made, and the secrets that have gone untold, just might be indicator of an immensely complex spider web that spins off into areas as yet unconsidered.
