For example, when ever I hear [blue]Two of Us[/blue], my eyes always tear up. I don't know what it is about that song... It makes me want to wrench my guts out sobbing.

Here now are more songs these four ineffable men have brought to my ears, and why they mean so much to me:

[blue]I'm Looking Through You[/blue] - I hum this when I look at myself in the mirror most mornings. Upon losing friends or being stabbed in the back by one, this song brings warm feelings and has methinking the Beatles, at least, are on my side. And did I mention it's just a pimp beat?

[/i] - My dad used to take me into his arms and dance with me when I was little : )

[blue]Revolution No. 9.[/blue]: Generally brings to mind my childhood. A schizophrenic aunt, wakes and funerals, family fueds, etc.

[/i]: Just a wicked good thump-your-head-and-strip-naked type of tune.

[blue]Ticket To Ride[/blue]
[/i]: Reminds me of watching A Hard Day's Night with my dad for the first time, and learning about drugs.

[blue]Martha My Dear[/blue]: My aunt, uncle, cousins and a bunch of relatives came over and we danced like crazy fiends.

: Ah...I could have probably sung you the lyrics while still in the womb.

: I put wet rags on my face, listen to the neighbors argue, and press the repeat play. Excellent for a rainy day.

: As the case is for every Beatles song I've ever heard (AKA all of them, even the weird stuff no one normal has heard of), this was on heavy rotation in my house.

I've Just Seen A Face is a feel-good rather optimistic song - so catchy - can't really describe the feeling.

Then there's Your Mother Should Know, a haunting melody that I've listened to over and over again. Can't get enough of it.

well, right now im listening to "and i love her" and thats a feel good song to me. so is for no one, i dont know why. and, of course... you never give me your money. i mean... it reminds me of my dream. *romantic sigh*

I really love some of the more obscure songs like "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" where George sounds like a blushing little kid, and "And Your Bird Can Sing" is currently one of my favorites. Really great when they go into that descending harmony on the third or fourth verse.

"If I Needed Someone" is pretty catchy. I'm a big fan of all of George's work; highly underrated.

"You Won't See Me" is probably the first time someone tried a melody like this, though it's been copied to death since then. I hate when someone writes a really good song, and then so many people copy it, it becomes a cliche'. Then you listen to the original and think "I've heard that a million times before!" I had this problem with Jimi Hendrix' guitar playing until I realized he was the first guy to even try playing guitar like that!

I listened to Yesterday a lot when I broke up with my boyfriend. It made me sad and calm about the whole thing at the same time. I love when a song can mix emotions like that so easily- as if it's not even trying.

Actually, "Maybe I'm Amazed" is good, too.

Paul (or Faul, whichever you prefer) does some great piano. I don't know who's playing guitar, but if that's him, then it's good. The drumming isn't that bad either.

I could do a better more early Paul-like vocal, though.

May I add "Too Many People" to that list?

Octupuses Garden! its such a feel good cutesy song that makes you want to have your very own octupus in an ocean with dolphins and gold fishies and hug them all. that song just makes me happy

and in my life! OMG THAT SONG MAKES ME CRY! i mean, yesterday i wasnt feeling well in the head, and i was listening to this song on repeat, and i just cried my ass off. i dont know what it is about this song, but it makes you think about everyone you ever knew, and how much you love them and miss them, and it makes you feel like calling your very old friends. i know this sounds like a bad thing, but it makes me think of when i was really little, and how sweet and innocent i still was. and the song itself is just so beautiful!

omg... there ALL good for the car! even revolution 9! funny story... just a few blocks from my apartment, theres a street with a ton of stuff on it. like, a movie theater, starbucks (chocolate moon is just a few feet away, but on a diffrent street) and all these diffrent shops and restraunts. Well, every wednesday, they hold a car show so that everyone who has a cool car can show it off. Well... Dan and I decided to be part of the fun, and go up and down the streets where it was happening, and BLASTED Revolution 9. Oh the looks we got! Everyone kept staring at us, and I saw old people (another thing our town is filled with) and little kids giving us confused and terrified looks. God that was great! I really sugguest trying it.

Another thing Dan likes to do is blast The Beatles in an intersection where everyone is at.

yeah, blasting rev 9 was so funny! i always blast beatles songs when i got out driving. its great being at a stop light and having one of their older songs blasting like "i wanna hold your hand" or even the german version of she loves you!

I love "Good Day Sunshine" too, but is it just me, or is John's harmony painfully out of tune? It drives me crazy every time I listen to it!
