Not to refute your comments SK but she could just be happy that he had a van in the early days so they could get from gig to gig!!! ... is it your English humour of you are referring to that?

There is a photo commented: John, Eric Clapton and Keith RICHARD before he became RICHARDS" I can explain this. Keith's real last name is 'Richards". At the beginning of the Rolling Stones' career, he changed it to 'Richard', for a bit. Then he reclaimed the family name 'Richards'. Nothing to do with PID, imo.

Anyone know what year Ringo was first replaced?

I incline to think that he was replaced before Paul. Maybe around 1964-1965?

Thanks, khamira. Do you know under what circumstances, and what happened to Richard?

I know that Ringo was replaced between A Hard Day's Night and Help. The AHDN Ringo had droopy eyes, closer set than the Fingo of Help. He had fuller lips and a different sounding voice.
I read about the sickly childhood, and while they were touring , they had a different drummer...

Tara Browne was not "Ringo" nothing like; however the early Ringo bears no resemblance at all to the Ringo of today (why do they all have beards later on?) Next clue please?

The replacement you refer to was Jimmy Nichol a top session drummer who was brought in to stand in for Ringo on the tour of Sweden as Ringo had to have his tonsils removed. (As he didn't sing couldn't that have waited til after the tour?) Although he was reputed to be a "sickly child" and missed a lot of school due to illness and being in and out of hospital, he still had his tonsils and it was decided they had to come out just when they were going on tour.... Maybe this was thought a good time to "see if the fans would accept a different drummer"....Jimmy Nichol was quite good looking (Ringo was not and not a very good drummer either). In footage of the tour, Jimmy looks very happy and acts as though he is a full member of the group not merely standing in for sick leave....however, Ringo reappeared after his convalescence (or someone who looked like him which Jimmy did not!) Food for thought.

On the MMT bus beneath the word "tour" can be seen the "all seeing eye" symbol....also just after that a curious symbol/pattern: looks like "the fork in the road"?

James Paul & Brian: Neil Aspinall looks nothing like Ringo (ears for a start and nose not big enough!)
