I know we haven't had much discussion about Heather. I know every time I see her picture, she always looks so smug. I guess she should be smug, she landed herself a big, rich, old, sugar daddy and then even managed to get pregnant ;D ;D The wonders of Viagra!! By getting knocked up, she assured herself a big piece of the pie when the old cogger dies. Then you won't be able to get the smile of her face. ;D ;D ;D I understand that Paul's real daughters were NOT happy about the wedding. Nothing like having a stepmom younger than you are. And she knows she is not James Paul McCartney, but the wife of a phoney (^@%@%@

Thanks for posting those, Billy Jay. Actually, they are a happy, well-heeled couple. (Well heeled in blue-top running shoes is still well-heeled.)
They look great--they look happy. The fact is, we are on the outside (way----waaayy-----WAAAAYYY outside) looking in. And what can we really see?
They see each other's real, core self. (Isn't that a main feature of marraige?) They know the depths and weaknesses, the strengths and heights of the other person. And on those terms alone is the quality of their relationship set.
Cole Porter wrote a song called "All of You":
"I love the looks of you, the lure of you, The sweet of you, the pure of you, The eyes, the arms, the mouth of you, The East, West, North , and the South of you. I'd love to gain complete control of you, And handle even the heart and soul of you, So, love at least a small percent of me, do, For I love all of you."
Now, in a 21st century connotation, , the "complete control" line sounds a little sick, a little scary.
In the '30's. I think the connotation was softer. Cole's lyrics often tasted of hyperbole; here, I think it just means commitment, not dominance.
But its the line,: "handle even the heart AND soul of you" that is interesting. That's asking for the whole enchilada, romantically speaking. In other words, a committed love is a package deal.
And for two people that have seen their share of challenges, regardless of their relative chronologies, two people that have seen both sides of sincerity------the "fair weather types" and the "loyal as a dog even when you're in a bitter strait types"---- seems like they could figure out where each other's hearts are.
My bet is, they are sincerely and mutually in love with each other for who the other one is on the inside. Marraige is a lot of time to spend with some one else. It better bloody well be tolerable time----and in the end, the most enticing riches are the riches of soul.
Qui verra verra.
Edited to say (1) I meant, "the riches of THE soul", not "riches of soul" which evokes an 'apogee' of James Brown, and (2):
It's all about the throw pillows and matching throw rug. Definitely NOT purchased at Target.............................sofa works too.............

Well I'll have to say Heather seems more ladylike than Linda ever was. Bet Heather even shaves her underarms and leg. The picture on Ram with Linda's long underarm hair grossed me out for life on her. I will have go say I think Heather is more hep. She no doubt has a nanny and she won't mind leaving the kid home as she gets older rather than constantly disrupting her routine by running her all over. It amazed me that Linda wouldn't discipline the kids and took them everywhere with no regards to schooling, schedules, routine.
