Don't know how many here have not heard of this yet, and I thought maybe I could share this over here. At the end of the Sgt Pepper reprise, It sounds like (someone, Faul?) is shouting something, try to make it out... On the US stereo version is almost impossible to hear, this is a mono mix, and from what I've heard, the mono mixes tend to put this voice much more in the foreground.
What do you think?

it was in Uberkinder original site, in sound clues:
in the end of song: " sgt peppers lonely, sgt peppers lonely, sgt peppers lonely, heaaaarrrtssss...... cclluuubbbb..."
Just when they begin saying "heaaarrtssss", Hear only left side, very carefuly, you hear in background:
PAUL IS DEAD..................REALLY REALLY DEAD................... PAUL IS DEAD PAUL IS DEAD PAUL IS DEAD

heard the mp3.
very interesting. i can hear
paul is dead, really really dead, but the rest dont fit too much for paul is dead, paul is dead
however, in stereo version, you can hear paul is dead really really dead paul is dead, paul is dead
on the left side
where did you get this version?

Lots of stuff floating around, mostly I find stuff like this on the usenet binary groups. It's just labeled as a "mono mix", not much more i can tell you. I think it's pretty clear, and I've heard plenty of stubborn denials, or that it really means that Paul was dead as an artist.. (whatever that means..)

i have a sgt. pepper lp (stereo, french print by pathe marconi for the german lable odeon, year of print unknown). it seems the "paul is dead" shouts have been mixed out on this print, 'cause i can't hear them on it.

This is what I heard: At the very beginning, what sounds like John says : Don't say it ! Then a mumble. Then the reprise. Sgt. Pepper lonely hearts, Faul - I know that he's dead, ( club ) really really dead (band ) - Faul - How was that good for the band anyway ?! They screwed him, then they... At that point it cuts off suddenly. I can't believe what I just heard. Let me know if any of you can also hear all of that. That's just horrible

i don't know about the screwing-part, but the "how was that good for the band anyway" part sounds spot-on.
also, the "dead" in "i know that he's dead" sounds to me like something else. more like "i know that he's going home --- <"club"> --- really really dead". not that that makes any sense, but that's what it sounds like to me.

Delta - thanks so much for the feedback. I just listened to it over & over & over again. After what you just said, now I can hear Faul say " I know that he's going home " also. The home is very faint ! I think it makes sense. I know that he's going home ( to heaven ? ) , he's really really dead, etc...
Wild !

i really dont think he says "they screwed him"... i think it says "thankyou ladies and gentlemen". It kinda makes more sence b/c, you know, its ending.

Sweetloretta, I just wrote it as I heard it. I had listened to it over & over, before I wrote what I heard. I'll listen to it again, just to make sure of course.

Yet another reprise, yes.. This is a new method of sound separation, 2 rear, 2 front, and a center, you have to download all five sound files and play them together. I don't have the setup for that, but I thought it would be interesting to see if that yelling is a little more clear in one of the channels. I'd say yes..

I did see this somewhere else ages ago and i heard the clip and it sounded very strange indeed, everything just fitted.
Having read this post i decided to listen to it on the cd version, and its definitely been doctored, ie. you can still hear where the "paul is dead hes really dead oh yeh paul is dead" or whatever it says is but its just a mumble and you cant make out any words whatsoever.
I have an old LP version that i'll have to listen to to see whether its clear on that, but my record player is bust so ill have to get a new one and then ill tell you whether you can obviously hear it.

My take after hearing this version:
(Bill): "I don't want to scare anyone.."
"Paul is really dead"
"Paul is friggin dead"
"He's friggin dead!"
(John): "thank you, heh"
(Bill): "Thank you...(unintelligible)"

I have to agree with sweet loretta in that the last bit is definitely "ladies and gentlemen", but the rest does sound like they say paul is dead.

Thanks for posting this JoJo. I've been trying to track down a Mono LP of Sgt Pepper for months. In the US the stereo lp obscured (purposely I think) what's being shouted.

I've listened to it for about 30 times, and I came to this
"I know you're scared but he's Really really dead How was that good for the band in a way? Thank you, ladies and gentlemen..."

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum. You're all doing such good work!
This is what I heard:
In the very beginning: 'Don't say it'
After "heaaarrts", although i did not hear the repetition of Paul is dead, I did hear inaudible talk then, 'Paul is really dead and (I'm about to) or (I don't have to) or , my last choice, (I can ) prove anything you want." The (I can) is doubtful to me because it's too short.
Then I think he gives 'thanks" to whom, I'm not sure.
Listen to it again, does what I'm saying ring true to anyone out there??

Sounds to me like:
"I'm dying to scare everybody. Is he really really dead? It might work out for the band anyway...Thank you..." and I can't really make out the rest. Pretty weird.

The really crummy thing is whatever it was that Bill said, someone chuckled about it afterwards. I have a feeling it was John. As though he was amused at Bill for trying to give the game away

Yes. At some point early on in Faul's career, I suppose he felt ,among other things, responsible and was still trying to fit in and win their acceptance of him and so he'd go out on a limb to prove his loyalty to the cause. As time went on his his confidence as Faul incresased and he became more loyal to himself. It's a sad emotionally exhausting and enduring plight they all went through. If Faul accomplished anything in the Reprise, he got John, if that was him, to laugh. This was a big feat in itself given the fact that most of the post Paul pictures taken of the band looked very straight, serious, sad, angry etc.

My copy of the album (vynil) is Italian. What I noticed is the diffent way they wrote the lyrics. In "Reprise" you can read "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely...", in Sgt. you can read "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely ...". As if the band saying goodbye is "complete", the band introducing themselves is ... just an acronyms.
