Hello,
Being the curious one that I am, and not blindly believing everything that I read concerning audio evidence, I took it upon myself to get the CD's out. I own all digitally remastered releases from 1962-1970 and the 2 Past Masters. I never shelled out the big bucks for the Anthologys
I'm in complete agreement with all the sound clues except the one that ends the Sgt Pepper CD.
The ones that I'm aware of at this point are:
Ending to Strawberry Fields Forever, "I Buried Paul". I've been aware of this for years but thought it might've been just a joke of sorts, not knowing there were several others. I sped up the ending 1.5 times normal (150%, if normal speed is 100%). I've heard that it's really supposed to say, "Cranberry Sauce". However, the word "I" is even more clear at the faster speed. Definately not "Cran". I'm also not hearing an S sound in the last word, so I don't think it says "Sauce".
Near the end of I Am The Walrus, reversed, "Paul Is Dead" repeated several times. I heard the reversed clip off a link here and did it myself from my CD. Upon hearing this, it seemed more than just a coincidence or a joke. It can be hard to hear unless listening in a quiet environment.
Revolution 9, 2 reversed clips, "Turn Me On Dead Man" and "Let Me Out". Clear as a bell. The one thing I tried to do is say, "Number 9" in the same British accent as on the CD and no matter how I tried, it would never sound like "Turn Me On Dead Man" in reverse. More like "Neon Dermun". Very strange...(no, I'm not going to bust out singing Penny Lane, haha).
Ending to I'm So Tired, "Paul Is Dead Man, Miss Him, Miss Him, Miss Him". This sounds like Ringo to me, but I could be wrong. The 1st "Miss Him" is a bit fuzzy compared to the other 2. It almost sounds like, "Face Him or Face It". More like "Face Him" though.
Anyway, this isn't for the long time members per se, as you're already convinced. It would be more for someone new to the forum, or someone who never had these clips to listen to over and over, or perhaps someone who'd like to "brush up" on the sound clues. ;D
I'll post about the Sgt Peppers in another post, as I have something to do right now.
Have a good night.
