If you check Fauls website there is this other website (Meysight, I think). If you register there you can check stuff like videos and all that jazz. There is this one video where he drives in a car. He starts talking about the Beatles and he say's "When I think about it, I actually never set up a band. I never done it before. When I joined the Beatles it was an already set up affair"
Well, he tells us everything.

And then we remember reading the story where John Lennon had a band called the Quarry Men and Paul joined after the fact. Sometimes you guys read too much into things, I swear.

WHY I'm on here is my own business, but it sure ain't to believe everything everybody writes on this site.

I think that you'll find that I never questioned your business.
Pepperspray was merely making an observation, and isn't a natural English speaker, give 'em a break.

re: "I think that you'll find that I never questioned your business" What do you call this? "Sometimes I wonder why you guys are on here"
English speaker or not, if you don't know the basic facts, i.e., Paul joined an existing group, then maybe you shouldn't make comments. Not everything is a part of the conspiracy, that's my point. Both peoplescommittee and I could have been much harsher, but we were gentle. Now, can we move on?

That's me questioning myself.
The basic facts?
OK, I'm with you, he probably minced his words and meant that he joined the Quarrymen, so Paul did join an existing group as he said. However, the so called "basic fact" remains that Paul founded the Beatles, so he couldn't have joined them.
Even if it is not "part of the conspiracy" the thread title still remains valid... "Oops. He said something wrong."

plasticpaul- I respectfully disagree with your statement that, "However, the so called "basic fact" remains that Paul founded the Beatles, so he couldn't have joined them."
Paul joined a working unit, The Quarrymen, that changed names and personnel several times before a) settling on the name The Beatles, and b) solidifying into the line-up of John, Paul, George and Ringo. He did not found or even co-found the Beatles. He joined John's group, The Quarrymen, "an already set up affair"" which became the Beatles.
Thank you. LeLocomotion

You're quite correct, and I agree, as I say he probably just minced his words.

I have to admit, I read that like you did Plastic Paul...mincing is an understatement.

When Paul joined, the Beatles where far from a set up affair. Paul and John build that band from the ground up. Remember, George was extremely young at that time (certainly in those days), and Ringo had not joined yet. They worked their asses of in Hamburg (doing more then two gigs a day seven days a week, for months (this is one of their secrets in becoming so good)), and flew (fled) to England, to record their first demo tape on January 1st 1962 (with Pete Best) (Imagine that; 4 young guys, getting up early, to record a demo, after new years eve! Talk about conviction and work ethos. Anyway, no (at least rock) musician wants to get up, and do a demo, on January 1st, if his band all ready is a "set up affair"). When Billy joined, it was indeed, an all ready, set up affair.

Paul may have joined the Quarrymen, though there is nowhere saying he did that I have found yet, and even if he did, it is a VERY well known FACT that John and Paul CO-FOUNDED The Beatles.
On that note, I'm totally with digit on this one.
