The cover of Sgt. Pepper is a grave. It is no more The Beatles, just Beatles, only (the official Beatles albums (note also that on most compilation albums, the songs before Sgt Pepper are never on a side with songs after Sgt. Pepper) ) on the White Album, they are called The Beatles, why, I don`t know. Paul stands with his back to the audience on the back cover, George points with his thumb to Wednesday morning at five o`clock, the day Paul (supposedly died) (there seem to be some controversy regarding the date Paul died)) So let me introduce to you, the one and only Billy Shears (at the end of the song they sing Billy Shears, but could be taken as Billy`s here). What would you do if I sing out of key? It`s getting better all the time (John: Can get no worse). (this song might have been song by the real McCartney) And it doesn't really matter if I'm wrong I'm right
Where I belong I'm right
Where I belong. (Not sure who sings this, probably Faul)
The band begins at ten to six
when Mr. K performs his tricks without a sound (Faul not singing?)Ten somersets he'll undertake on solid ground (it seems this was a little more...)
Having been some days in preparation a splendid time is guaranteed for all (remember this was the Sgt. Peppers motto, eg the Beatle show had to go on.)
And tonight Mr. Kite is topping the bill
Wednesday morning and five o'clock he's leaving home bye bye.
Within You Without You And life flows (goes) on within you and without you. (George describing one of his conversations with Paul)
When I`m Sixty-Four was probably sung by Paul (just see the irony) as was Lovely Rita. The at the end of the reprise one can hear (Ringo?) sing (scream) something like Paul is dead. Really really dead. Please come back to us, come back.
I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph (It was Paul)
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure
If he was from the House of Lords. (If he was famous)
I'd love to turn you on. (The final note supposedly is a chord of death and the piece by McCartney is probably Paul from an old outtake).
The Magical Mystery Tour is dying to take you away
Dying to take you away - take you today.
Day after day, alone on a hill,
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him, The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud.
But nobody ever hears him And nobody seems to like him,
And he never shows his feelings. He never listens to them,
He knows that they're the fools
They don't like him.
(Faul singing about himself and his frustration with the other Beatles)
Flying takes on a whole other meaning with latest clues appearing (even though these new clues seems to contradict the first story supposedly given by George trough his Indian frineds...), especially because LA is mentioned on this album (on the next song) which was only released in the US anyway....
There's a fog upon L.A.
And my friends have lost their way
We'll be over soon they said
Now they've lost themselves instead.
Please don't be long please don't you be very long
Please don't be long
Your Mother should know (John being sarcastic).
I am he
As you are he
As you are me
And we are all together.
I'm crying - I'm crying I'm crying.
You say goodbye and I say hello, hello, hello.
I don't know why you say goodbye I say hello, hello, hello.
(Faul does not understand why john wants to stop)
I can stay till it's time to go
(John singing about Paul`s burial place)
Let me take you down,
'Cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields.
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry Fields forever.
Living is easy with eyes closed
Misunderstanding all you see.
It's getting hard to be someone.
But it all works out,
It doesn't matter much to me.
No one I think is in my tree,
I mean it must be high or low.
That is you can't you know tune in.
But it's all right.
That is I think it's not too bad (John singing about Faul and the two other Beatles, John feels alone, trying to explain he can not play in tune (either play the low note or the high note)
Always, no sometimes, I think it's me,
But you know I know when it's a dream.
I think I know I mean a 'Yes'.
But it's all wrong.
That is I think I disagree. (John explaining to Paul that he apologizes and knows that he is not living in a dream, but that it is real, Paul is dead and replaced by Billy) at the end we can hear (Ringo?) someone reciting King Lear, and the famous "I buried Paul" (or I`m very bored, or cranberry sauce (I know on one take it is actually cranberry sauce, but it sure sounds on the album as "I buried Paul", which was the idea).
Baby (Billy) You're a Rich Man
How does it feel to be one of the beautiful people
Now that you know who you are
What do you want to be
Tuned to a natural E
Happy to be that way now that you've found another key
What are you going to play (John teasing Faul, he learned another key to play). You keep all your money in a big brown bag inside a zoo
What a thing to do (Faul keeping his money away from the other Beatles, with some very dangerous, insane people).
Love is all there is (john trying come to terms with the situation, note, Faul singing She loves You Yeah Yeah Yeah at the end).
To be continued.
