I'm desperately searching for a picture of JPM from the videotaping sessions for "Paperback Writer" at EMI. There are some shots here from that, but this one I need is special: Paul is sitting on something strapped into his Hofner bass, which is fully visible. He has a rather pained expression on his face, which is looking wistfully away from the camera. Anyone that can produce this shot I will be SOOOO grateful to!!! Thanks folks!

Thanks Delta! Love that expression on Ringos face...."Ed 'asent got a bloody clue about that bass!" John seems equally amused. "I'm not about to let him mess about with me Rick!"

Check the edges around Frian, yes Frian, (Brian had thin lips and lighter highlights) and Ed, and John's body language is off cue in that pose. Is he really there? That is a picture which makes for the questions. JIMHO, it whispers a "composite", whose parts rearrange into "i.e.compost".
I am a bawdry titch.

I have a whole photo album of pictures of only the real JPM. Let me search through there and see if I can find the one you want. I also the video you are talking about and will check it also.

I'm back & I'm packing ! This photo really looks like it was tampered with. In fact, considering what Perplexed just said, I would have to guess that it was Frian who was inserted into the shot afterwards ! Also, it seems to me that Frian has a smaller forehead than Brian had. Frian is shorter than Brian was. This is the opposite of Paul vs. Faul. Faul IS taller than Paul was. Upon further inspection, it seems to me that whomever put together these composites also tried to correlate Frian's skin color to the people around him. How insidious.

Actually, SMA, no argument intended, but my impression of your top two photographs is that they are of Frian, and the man at the microphone is Frian as well. The bottommost colorized(?) Sullivan pic is actually Brian. The bottom pic I tend to find authentic, that's Paul covering his mouth, that's Brian, and John pre-surgery. I a little quandried about the middle pics......
JMO I could be confused. This wouldn't be the first time.(cough, looks down, nervous laugh)

Yes that last picture looks colorized and inserted. The suit behind John looks like it should be there more then the Beatles, as far a color goes.

You're not the only one who is confused The 1st photo you commented on ( in which you stated that it was Frian in the photo ) has the guy dressed the same way as the colorized Sullivan pic. So, it's the same man in both photos. Look both of those photos over again. Then tell us who you think it is. I know how hard this is to figure out. They did a pretty good job on the surgery with Frian. However, there are several crucial differences between him & Brian. The fact is that in some photos, it's really hard to tell All I know is that a person's ears do NOT change shape & position on their head, & a person most definitley does not get shorter when they're only in their 30's. Unless of course they are in an advanced state of osteoporosis, which I think would be noticeable !

Look close. Think bouncing heads on "Southpark." Frian just kinda looks like my friend Tom H. When I see Frian, I immediately think Tom. H. Don' t know why.

By George, I think you're right ! I was trying to copy that 1st photo into one of the photobuckets I have access to. Unfortunately, there is no more room in any of them. Could someone PLEASE post the top black & white photo from the Ed Sullivan show ontop of the color one that I posted yesterday ? So that it will be easier to compare the two ?

I just played the video of "Paperback Writer". I could not find the shot you were looking for, but I will see if maybe I have another video somewhere. I see where he is looking away and looking a bit pained. If you look closely, you'll see his left front tooth is broken. I'm sure that would give you cause him pain.

Btw, speaking of videos, I was looking through this collection, and this frame is from "Twist and Shout" I was struck by what a small framed guy he was, and not really that tall. It's just one perspective I know, but Faul was not only taller, he had a larger frame, bigger boned as they say..

Let me see if I can describe better... No glasses on. The shot itself is NOT in either version of the video. It appears to be between takes. Paul is sitting on..something (amp?) and you can see the whole body of his Hofner, as well as what appears to be either a watch with a steel hinge top or simply on backwards. The only time Ive ever seen this was in a 1982 book of Beatles 'posters'. These 'posters' were actually magazine size shots. Ive seen 'em all again but THIS one.
