I thought I remember someone mentioning that the 1987 release of Help may not contain doctored versions of Paul. To anyone who might know, have you confirmed this by comparing the 1987 release with a more recent re-release? Is Paul's face (and perhaps height) different in both movies? I would just like confirmation about this before I go out and buy it. Thanks.

Thanks Sun King. You know, the difference is so subtle (yet there is a difference) that if I wasn't conscious that there might be a difference, I probably would not have noticed the differences.

They draw attention to themselves by doing that.

...if I wasn't conscious that there might be a difference, I probably would not have noticed the differences. And THIS was "their" main aim making those things...

I'm sorry, I don't think it;s the same frame.

Notice the blatant eye-colour difference!

I'm sorry, I don't think it;s the same frame. it might not be the exact same frame, maybe a split second off, but that should not account for the differences.

all movies are re colorized when they make a dvd version cause they cant transfer all of the information from film to dvd. having said that, I think that it would be next to impossible to catch the video and dvd at the exact same frame--remember that when you transfer film to video you also lose a lot of information for instand the media showed photos of patriot missles apparently hitting iraqi scuds during guld war 1 but the facts were that not a single patriot hit was cut on video.

I don't know all that much about the technology behind film, VHS video, and DVD video, but doesn't DVD have the capability to contain more information than VHS, and therefore could it be possible that the video on DVD can show greater detail in images than what can be shown on VHS, so that the faces on DVD will look a little different than the faces on VHS? The images on DVD may be able to show certain nuances or subtleties that VHS is unable to show, hence making Pauls face look a little different. Are there any similarly subtle differences in the rest of the Beatles faces when comparing the 1987 VHS to the DVD? Or is it just Paul's face that is different?

I have a few films on both VHS and DVD. I haven't noticed any actors' skulls appearing discernably longer in the DVD version.
(Not even on "This Island Earth"!)
