As most know by now there's a Klaatu album named 3:47 EST.
Does anyone have any insight to what this means?
It's just i saw a trailer for a new exorcist film and it mentions that time....

There's some great Klaatu threads hiding about here, I know it has something to do with the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still".
I remember Apollo alluding to the crickets chirping in the beginning of the first song, and how it meant something.
Coincidentally, a review I just Googled mentioned how the first song was hampered somewhat by all those "alien sounds" at the beginning. Well, the album did have an outer space thread to it, but not sure crickets chirping are "alien".

3:47 EST is the time in "The Day the Earth Stood Still" that the spaceship landed to bring Earth a powerful message of enlightenment. JPM was very touched by this film.
When JPM's ashes were scattered by Gemini 13, they made sure to liftoff at at this time. Or rather, to be more precise, 3:46:33 -- got to work the sacred masonic number in there eh wot?
Later when John, Klaus, George and Ringo decided to cut some sub rosa singles, they named the band "Klaatu" after the character from the film.
(The crickets are BEETLES.)

(The crickets are BEETLES.) Just to follow up, you are supposed to listen backwards. Beetles = Crickets? mmm maybe.

Well, I did this before, reversing those darned crickets, and listening very carefully, even doing a time stretch.. Didn't exactly jump out at me.. But here is the section with the crickets reversed, and here is a clip slowed down of a section with I guess frogs doing their thing. The frogs may be saying something, or maybe not. It's fun, isn't it? Pardon the scratches, but this is the only version of the album I have at this point.

No need to apologise for the scratches, in with the crickets I also notice what sound to me like typical small British garden birds to me, like sparrows, tits or finches...

What continues to intrigue me, is the business about playing the part in the beginning of "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" backwards, the part with the crickets. I believe it was mentioned here that there was backwards speech in that part. Well, I listened over and over, and the only possible candidate that I can see is: the frogs. Here is the entire section backwards. Next thing I tried was slowing it down with a time strech, but that wasn't quite there, so I shifted the pitch up. Here is the result. I think what they might have done is spoken something in a normal voice, then done some serious engineering to make it sound like a frog's croaking, and for good measure, reversed it. The problem is reverse engineering it, and I know I didn't quite hit the mark here. I do think there's something here, and I have a few possibilities in mind.. See what you think.
