I don't think he would be in the Pepperpots either under a different name. He would probably be proud of his talent. The replacement for Paul is someone else I am sure.

Whether the replacement for Paul is someone else or not, the idea is that the guy who was Neil replaced paul, so he could have been called John Doe and then changed his name for his role in the Beatles.
Don't get me wrong i'm not at all convinced by "Neil is Faul" but I know that it's not that easy to ruin an argument!!!

it used to be so simple.....
paul and ringo and brian on their way from the airport.....then a car cut them off, paul had some kind of medical crisis and died, brian was found elsewhere about the same time.
now it's a "who replaced who" house of mirrors!!! i would like to know why we have [apparently] abandoned the idea of william shepperd as a person unto himself and instead made HIM a persona of neil aspinall. this requires a double who has his own double....
maybe i should give this up and study multitensor calculus instead, it might be easier!

Unless I'm completely off-base, I think what's being said here is that things occurred as told by 60If but the replacement theories were wrong. The man now said to have been Neil Aspinall pre-1966 was actually someone else, possibly the mysterious writer William Sheppard, and was discovered to be compatible enough to stand in as JPM's double. "Neil Aspinall" as a road manager was "reverse engineered" after the fact and given his own double for the sake of continuity. Perhaps there was a real person named Neil Aspinall that existed in the early hisory of the Beatles and they merely copped the name when they needed to establish some kind of pre-66 history. It would appear to me that Neil's identity and persona as a close friend, manager and confidant was established for most if not all by fan mags and printed media. If they said he existed before 66 whose to say he didn't? Wow, my head hurts. I think I need to lay down.

I ask: Dare we name "double's double" a "tribble"? And call "tribble's double" a "quibble"?-----we've been Troubled with tribbles, while quibbling o'er quibbles. (Our minds all-a-gibble*, we turned into Sybils!)....... We saught truth to nibble, but found only kibbles, And brochaids of fibbles, supported by dribbles. This poem isn't "fribbol-eth", it's just a shibboleth†Written to seperate those who can "See" Paul-eth, From those who merge Fauleth with Neil As-Pin'all-eth. Call they, then stall they, then crawl they, away...... Ta-da. OK, it ain't Chaucer, but he's busy writin' for the Funhouse. * forums.techguy.org/random-discussion/306144-pet-peeves-air-em-out-3.html(read down to 'gribble', I didn't completely make it up) †www.answers.com/topic/shibboleth

Hi !
I wonder, why the conclusion of Pauls replacement isn't official ! After Neil Aspinall is now offered as the man who can be two doubles in one and this at the same time (something of a guiness book record in my opinion...) it would be easy to make a statement by himself ! So, i want those people that feed this idea here in te forum, to come to the front and give us some clear evidence of this !!! I mean clear evidence - no photos side by side to look at and wonder how this could (have) work(ed). I mean - this guy, Neil Aspinall, has another job too (he is a producer and something like a manager of the Apple Records, isn't he ?) Doesn't seem likely that he can handle three jobs at once (Billy Shepperd, Faul McCartney and himself). Where is the evidence. I think the evidence that Pauls replacement ist William Shepperd has a lot more value ...
So long,
