Hi !
Does anyone remember the song lyrics of the famous Stones Song ? - Here it is :
Sympathy for the Devil
''Please allow me to introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
I’ve been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man’s soul and faith
And I was ’round when jesus christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around st. petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a general’s rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what’s confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me lucifer
’cause I’m in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I’ll lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, what’s my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what’s my name
I tell you one time, you’re to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
What’s me name
Tell me, baby, what’s my name
Tell me, sweetie, what’s my name
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
The line -
''And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached bombay''
really surprised me when i read this after a long time again yesterday.
Is it a hint on Pauls death, before going to India together with the Beatles ?
We remember that only Faul made the trip to India with the remaining three beatles, hoping they were able to transfer Pauls soul in Fauls body (as it is explained in the 60 IF document)...
The song was written in 1968, when Brian Jones was still alive.
There is also an interesting book to read with the title ''
Who killed Christopher Robin ?''
Here is a short review of this book :
''The revised and updated edition of Terry Rawling's controversial and acclaimed account of the intriguing and mystrerious events that surrounded the death of Rolling Stones founder, Brian Jones.
The death of Christopher Robin has developed into one of the greatest legends of rock n' roll heritage, the star having been sacked from the Stones three weeks previously on account of his accelerating drink and drug use.
Through exhaustive research, author Terry Rawlings has amassed new evidence that contradicts the official Accidental Death verdict. The story is packed with interviews and insights from the industry characters that surrounded the band at the time.
The content of the book forms the basis of the 2005 motion picture Stoned that dramatises the author's findings.''
Any comments ?
