As many of you know i'm sitting on the fence post as the whole PID issue goes and there are good arguments for both sides but i was thinking that assuming Paul was replaced with Bill then it would account for why he became far more greedy in later life. i.e. in 1964 is saying he wants to retire in a few years to... 1967- 70 - Beatles work 1970 - 1980 - Wings and their releases 1980's - 1990's - solo stuff 1996/97 - anthologies being released 2003 - starts a world tour with this super group. 2004 - releases let it be..naked. Now the reasons that someone becomes greedy go something like this 1) they feel their never going to be caught, 2) the need what they are gaining or 3) their making the most of an opportunity before its gone. Now I believe that Faul has cottoned onto the fact that people have started asking questions and doing comparisons and this has worried him and he is now trying to make the most out of the situation as possible. Well thats just my humble opinion , what do you guys think?

Some strange things happened around the time the Let It Be...Naked album was released. Both Phil Spector and Michael Jackson were arrested. Both claim it's lies or a setup.
It was Phil Spector's soundtrack that was removed from the album. Was he miffed? Was he going to say something? Was this a murder frame-up to warn or silence him?
MJ holds the rights to the whole Beatles song catagloue and had taken out a loan on it, assuming he would make the money back in sales from his new album but now...?
Even the title of the album, the word "Naked", may have a significance. Is it a reference to the word "Naked" from this site? I'm not saying that it is, just speculating.

How did Paul's part of the publishing ever get away from Paul in the first place?
Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and Goerge and Ira Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, etc. all are passed away. Their interest in their own catalogue, and controlling rights have been maintained in trusts, usually related to family members. At least, a consortium that recognises the widow or children.
If you want to do a Richard Rodgers review, you must first seek permission. They don't always grant it. The extending legacys of Tin Pan Alley, and that includes newer artists like Carol King and Burt Bacharach, are strongly protected. And in most cases I know, the composer (except in buy-outs and ghost writing) don't lose a relationship to the handywork, even in death.
The story of the Lennon/McCartney song catalogue must be interesting.

I'm sorry, but I think that's going way too far. The internet is a huge place, and PID (and alive) sites take up about 0.000001% of the internet. I realy don't think that a microscopic fraction of the internet would change the name of an album. Plus, we would be the only ones who would know about it, and that's less then 500 people. I don't think that (PF)aul gives a crud about what 500 people think. In order for hime to care a bit, that number would have to increase greatly.

yes, the numbers for this particular topic are tiny-----what in the world happened to us? (both here at 60IF and across the "imformation super-street" at macca4ever.)
I mean, at least we both share a fascination with the whole Beatles demi-world. (a clumsy ox-y-moron have I made) We all sustain a prevailing fascination with the Beatle legacy.
And Sunday night there is to be televised a tribute to the Beatles----everyone tune in, its on regular network TV. Part of an awards fling.
I can't view it---have to work. My VCR is broken. I shall buy a new one tomorrow. Curious about the choices made. What clips will they show? What contemporay star will sing which Beatles classic? Looking very forward to it.
As far as the choice of the word "naked", used as it is for this re-mix, the implication to me, JMO, is that somehow the original mix was "overdressed." And its not just the overcoat and jacket that have been removed---this mix is stripped down passed Phil Spector's skivvies. Which may be striped these days........
