Just want to ask if anyone has got any ideas on this:
As we all know and understand, The Beatles stopped touring so that Faul would not be recognised and get less exposure.
So what about the Let it Be project?
This was after all, meant as a documentery to folow the Beatles around while they made the album right?
Why would they come up with this idea (was it not meant to be Paul/Faul's idea?) when they were trying to get less exposure on Faul?
To me this does not add up, what does everyone else think?
One possibility is that because they stopped touring, they felt it might be suspicious if they stayed in hiding for so long so, they produced this to stop the suspicions and then they could alter the film so that Faul looked like Paul? (however faul does look pretty "Faul-like" in let it be)
Any thoughts people?

Because by that time they had gotten away with Faul replacing Paul without anyone knowing. Plus, Faul has a beard in that film doesn't he?

By that time a couple pf years had gone by. The PID rumor (as it was dismissed as) had run its course, people were manipulated into believing the whole thing was cooked up by a few scammers, the Beatles themselves, take your pick. Besides, nice people don't believe such foolish things, do they? That brings us to filming Let It Be. By then it was believed mostly by Faul I think, that he was ready. I expect he is the one that forced the issue, look at his ego on display in the film itself. There may have been those who said it's a bad idea, even tried to stop it, but by then Faul had taken charge. The other Beatles probably didn't care at that point, go ahead and blow it for yourself Faul, see if we care. Faul cynically knew probably more than anyone else, that the public had swallowed him as Paul, it was something that was fully absorbed. Of course the full beard covered up a LOT, the shape of the chin, the lip scar,etc..
