It's amazing how Faul's image changes from year to year. If you take a look at the pictures through this forum, you'll see Faul with hair black or brown, with eyes green, brown or hazel, with and without chest hair, I would even say taller and shorter depending on the picture.
I have the theory that this is a intentional strategie to make Paul's replacement easier to believe. Anyone could look at many Faul's pictures, and then take a look to some of Paul's and say "What's so strange, Paul is always changing his look." I mean, it's very difficult to see the differences in the shape of the head just looking separate photos, so it's easy for people to believe that the differences between Paul's look in 65 and Faul's in 66 is just one more of his many changes.
He's like The Jackal.

you are right. also, the biggest reason its so hard for people to see the obvious differences or just not rule it out as bullshit is because all they see are doctored photos of james paul, or just faul.

Yes! My opinion is that, at least in the beginning, there was more than one fake -- maybe while Faul was undergoing plastic surgery? With the swelling and the bruising taking weeks to heal, somebody had to stand in. Maybe a close look-alike, but he couldn't play or sing.
