You might call this a "butcher cover" (just a bad pun, sorry.. ;D ) Faul sings We Can Work It Out and forgets the words! This is from an unedited version of that appearance. (no idea how that escaped) home.comcast.net/~zezinho/workitout.htmlHe then does the song one more time, so that a version without the screw ups can be broadcast. I'm not posting the second try, just the comments he makes at the beginning. He says "see if I'd only written one, I'd remember it". Uh huh... home.comcast.net/~zezinho/workitoutcomments.html

Both those links give me blank pages (but not dead links).

He has such a strong nasal sound in his voice.
Not how real Paul would've sung it!

Both those links give me blank pages (but not dead links). There shouldn't be a blank page, some people may need to right click and save the file to their computer and play it locally rather then within the browser. Sorry I usually add that piece of advice when I post sound files.

I've just seen "Paul McCartney makes mashed potatoes" on You Tube. Someone made a comment that he was the same height as he was in '63 and not the gangling 6'0 he was on the Sgt. Pepper album and that no 'Canadian' as Billy Shears or William Campbell is orginally could pull off faking a hard dialect like the Liverpudlian accent for 40 odd years without 'slipping up' somewhere, especially an American or a Canadian ( or words to that effect). Could someone watch this and comment on it, please.

I just watched it - some of it. Faul's accent sounds like a fake, generic English accent. I think he does slip up occassionally - uses the dark r a couple of times, instead of the light english r. Anyway, when compared to Paul's scouse accent, the differences should be pretty apparent. (Paul, David Frost interview at www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNYVxqJ83W8, Faul www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyyEc-GNDfQ) I can't believe Paul would ever do such a horribly boring video as that one of Faul making mashed potatoes. Paul was cool. Faul is a big dork :-P (just imo)

He says "see if I'd only written one, I'd remember it". Uh huh... I just listened to the sound file. He puts the emphasis on the word "one." I interpreted what he said as "If I had only written ONE song (instead of many), I'd probably remember the words to it." As in, he has so many songs, it's hard to remember the words to all of them. Hopefully that makes sense.
