When was the last time the Faul recorded any new songs? All he does at concerts is his or Paul's old music. Anyone here anything new he's done? We know Johnny wrote songs for him and he can no longer do so, obviously; what happened with Faul's great 'relationship' with Elton John??? Elton quit writing songs for him? Let's see: he also pissed off Denny Laine so there's no help there.......guess he's all dried up and relying on old material. That's why he has to fall back on old Beatle material that isn't even his. BTW, he is even overdubbing old Paul interviews with his voice!

I dunno, i really like Driving rain, there's a lot of good songs there. It seems that George's passing marked the beginning of live shows with nothing but Beatle material, I remember Howard Stern commenting on that at the time. But yeah it's not all bad... And I just remembered this one, a discussion that came up on another board.. A clue perhaps from Bill? It's hard to make out with the echo, but it sounds like: Hollywood, Paul is there.. Or All the way, Paul is dead, or...you name it.. (that's the problem) http://*banned link*/Shoebox/Raindropsclip.mp3

Opps sorry about that, That's from "Rinse the Raindrops" Not much in the way of lyrics, it's got a mood, hard driving guitar, Bill really screams this one out. 10 + minutes long.
Lyrics, why not:
Rinse the raindrops From your head Wipe your eyes Go back to bed In the morning Skies'll clear And I'll be here See the sunlight Break the ice For the birds of paradise Listen to the song they sing Awakening

Interesting. George's death. Something about him being in Los Angeles just before? But, he didn't die there, right? But, billy was in LA and they spent some time together just before George passed? What would a dying George ask for? LAst request. Maybe, to do some discreet tribute to Paul? Something to not shake the apple cart? Something for Paul---something subtle, caring, something not likely to ruffle feathers or create a stir. Just something in memoriam. Something that reaches where it is needed. "Let he who hath ears to hear, listen and understand?" Don't trouble the water. Hmmm. From "Lenntech." Proverbs about "water." www.lenntech.com/water-proverbs.htmAn interesting read. As if "Lenn"on's wordplay follows us along posthumously......or, perhaps, posthumorously...... But. not really. My silly musing. You know, my thought is, that, well, if you don't want to leave a trail for your audience about matters one wants kept very secretive, you don't drop hints or clues. Because, sooner or later, the clever will do what they always do, and spin some deductions. Of course, I think they have been spun wrong a lot of the time. But, the spinning goes on, and seemingly so do the breadcrumbs. And, what does this mean?

Actually, billy wrote and performed a very beautiful new song in his tour of England, in Spring 2004, entitled, "I Follow You." Really quite nice tune, and a fetching sentiment. Now, after ALL this banter at TKIN! etc, I had to "bite my lip" not to take it to this place,:i.e.,"I Follow You" equals "I, Faul, Owe You." As a tip of thanks to James Paul, I could twist my brain around that, but then, why do I lurch for the "alternate take" on everything that comes down the pike. I realize, of course, he was writing a gentle ode of gratitude, one that many a singer could take and make their own. Every singer/performer that has ever lived owes thanks for the inspiration gotten from someone they admired, and perhaps emulated. It's a universal situation with singers. Every mama bird teaches her young to fly. Every master crooner leaves a model for the singer's coming in behind them. Ella Fitzgerald is the Vocal Mother to thousands of young jazz singers. So, whether it is about that or something entirely different, billy's new song is a sweet song that comes from a place that is very genuine, very earnest.
