I'll bet the old timers here have discussed this somewhere along the way, but I was thinking about the John, George, & Ringo solo albums. Am I correct in thinking that "Paul" didn't ever appear to do a bass part/guest appearance on anybody's solo work? One would think that if Paul & his awsome bass-playing were really around, he would've surely worked a little with his old buds, here & there.
The more I think about this, the more it seems to make sense. PID would explain the RADICAL departure in music & album art with Sgt.P PID would explain those gawd-awful McCartney albums PID would explain why they didn't get back to doing something, sometime during 70-80

Back then, after it was clear the Beatles were broken up for good, it was very sad; such a great loss. My friends and I had always felt they should have made a pact instead; say decide to go their solo ways and get it out of their systems, then promise to get back together in 5 years and show the world how it's done!
In retrospect, they probably would agree too. Could have did the solo stuff and agreed to then, older and wiser, do some beatles stuff too.
I have always felt that deep down, John didn't want to kill the Beatles totally. Remember in 1977 when they all conveined in NYC to officially sign the end of the band, John WOULD NOT SHOW UP!
Even though he was two blocks away, and george and Ringo and Paul had come all the way from abroad, John would not show up to kill off the band...I always viewed that as very telling. Actions speak louder than words.

PS That was also the incident where George was pissed at john for not signing off, and also reniging on his promise to appear at some george concerts during George's current tour.
Apparently, george had always idolized John, did whatever he said, took whatever he took, etc. But finally George got so mad at John it is said he reached over and grabbed the famous round glasses off John's face, and proceeded to crumple, smash, and break them right in his hands! George kept bellowing, "I want to see your eyes, you bugger! Look at me when I'm talking to you..." they had a barney!

Well, the Beatles were to have gotten back together in 1979 for charity at the Concerts for Kampuchea. Faul talked John into it and also got George and Ringo up for it. Unfortunately, due to business and Faul's rift with George and George's recent rift with John, only "McCartney" and Wings appeared.

Yes, it would. sadly, george got back at him when he wrote his life's memoirs, titled 'I,Me,Mine" (the first printing was specially leather-bound, signed by the author, like limited to under 5,000 copies and cost over $300 in the 70's!) George only mentioned John like 5 times in the entire book. From all accounts, John never got over it, was hurt terribly, and they hadn't reconciled when John was killed....

And Faul and John never really got over their differences (obviously, it is Faul).... so the only Beatle that John was on good terms with at his death was Ringo... that's awful

..and it was only Ringo and Barbara Bach who went immediately to the Dakota when they heard the news that day. Faul kept a booked London studio date, Yoko went into the NY Record Plant studio within 24 hours.

They say that when George married Olivia (? hope I got her name right) in the late 70's, that Ringo, George, and Paul PLAYED AT THE RECEPTION, doing selections from SGT. PEPPERS and such!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Word was, when LENNON heard about it, he was EXTREMELY PISSED OFF, saying had he been invited, he would have been there. The MISSED Beatles reunion!
