At the end of the documentary "The Beatles Love Me Do" on the last cut before the credits, a fast clip of an interview tape ( 197?) is spliced in a weird way.
John Lennon & Victor Spinetti are being interviewed on camera. John is speaking to both the interviewer(?) and the camera (US) and gesturing emphatically.
"Half of the people are going to be saying 'What's he saying? What's he saying?' yaknow. YOURE being wronged by people who are insane - and you don't know"
close to credits.........

WOW! I really thought ya-all would really jump on this. Lennon outright is TELLING US that there is a conspiracy TO WRONG us (the peops) by INSANE people. how many smoking guns do we need? Most of this documentary features recollections of Victor Spinnetti (the "director' in Hard Day's Night") -a life long friend of the Beatles. He makes a point to say, politically, the beatles did and could change the world- which made a lot of people nervous!!! ps: produced by denny laine!

Kinda makes ya wonder about the human mind. Looking back, there's so much stuff. The cover of Sgt.P.. They make no effort to further blur the lines between Paul & (the new)Faul. He's clearly much taller & the head is clearly different yet nobody noticed! Also, as just pointed out... the beginning of Yellow Sub. there's no Paul... right under the title it sez NOTHING IS REAL.....in the Imagine film the reference to Beatle-Bill & the Fab 3...... & the Paul is Dead rumor did start, but somehow.... the powers that BE persisted until it just went away (for a while) ....absolutely amazin'!

Not really ! They took advantage of children . I was 13 the night he died. Back then you did'nt have any old beatles fans . The adults would'nt have known Paul from Peter Yarrow . 99.99 percent of the newsclippings and mazazines had been thrown out by then. By the time they came out from under the beards and mustaches and the goofy clothes (CLUE ! Why would FOUR fairly normal guys suddenly donn outfits including shirts with ruffled sleeves and wear ties with a christmas bow knot , and capes , for heavens sakes , and nehru jackets and furry vests ? They looked like clowns ! You know someone made them do that . The beards , which had'nt been in style since the the War of Northern Agression generation , we KNOW the reason for that. But I digress ) I did'nt notice , but I was a child . Except I DID notice . I just did'nt know it. I began getting away from the Beatles and into other people around the time of PID . I did'nt like the new beatles as much. They CHANGED . They went wierd on us and I didnt know why . I blamed them for it. It just seemed they became jerks . Drugs , that was it ! Mainly the fans were all kids . Easy to fool kids .

Victor Spinetti was an ACTOR in HDN; Richard Lester directed. Spinetti also appeared in Help! and MMT. hence the quotes around "director"

...and Lennon's comments could have been directed at ANYTHING; any one of his pet topics such as Right-Wing politics, Nixon, etc. It is an interesting bit of film, and I love to see John get all emphatic like that, but it ends up too generalized to shuffle to the PID bin for me...

IN FACT...considering the madness going on behind the scenes in the world of the Beatles at that time, JOHN most likely was referring TO THEMSELVES AS THE INSANE LEADING PEOPLE ON... Consider it.

It is not beyond the scope of possibility. Keep in mind, ever since late '66 John wanted to all of a sudden either quit the Beatles, or end the group. Of course, we have our theory and observations about why that was...PID. In contrast, during and after the Fall of '66 John gives us the best work of his life! A study in contrasts, to be sure -- that WAS the measure of the man. My basis for saying he could have been refering to the Fabs themselves is: he could have abruptly had a revelation that what they had done (replace Paul and carry on) was in essence insane; extraordinarily crazy, and perhaps not a little bit of naked fear that they had pulled it off. Perhaps the fear arose when, despite the plethora of clues dropped starting in '67, it took until mid-1969 for the public to grok it all. I'm just throwing out random ideas on the quote in question. The man himself was just like his lyrics; can be interpreted a hundred different ways! Re-read the quote in question, Lennon was always the main clue-dropper....
