Ringo Starr Borrows Paul McCartney Titleby Paul Cashmere 28 April 2005
Ringo Starr has borrowed the title of an old Paul McCartney song for his new album.
On the title track to 'Choose Love', Ringo sings "The Long and Winding Road is more than a song".
'Choose Love' is just as the title suggests, full of love songs. It is an area Ringo has also been close to. "From the beginning, the Beatles were saying 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' and 'Love Me Do.' It was all about love and that's still the most powerful message. If you look at the overall picture, the Beatles were about love and what better subject is there really?"
For this record, Ringo is performing with his new band The Roundheads. I am a band member," he declares. "That's who I am. That's who I want to be. It takes a band -- even more than it takes a village -- to make music like this. By now, we feel like we know each other's minds, we know where we're going. It takes time -- time takes time. The good news is that we've been making records together a while now, and I'm proud if this album shows growth and progress in terms of playing like a band. That's what we are -- a well-to-do garage band."
Ringo's well-to-do guests include Chrissie Hynde on 'Don't Hang Up', Robert Randolph on "Fading In, Fading Out" and "Oh My Lord," and Billy Preston on "Oh My Lord".
'Choose Love" will be released in June.Taken from: www.undercover.com.au/news/2005/apr05/20050428_ringo.html

Ringo's new album can be downloaded at www.musiclines.com/RingoS_ChooseL.htmI've heard it, and it is similar to Brainwashed in the sense of he expressing his feeliing about all this mess, oh lord is clearly Oh Paul, like my sweet lord, like house of lords.....

After reading the Amazon reviews and seeing Ringo perform the title track on "Good Morning America" this morning, I'd have to say it seems like Ringo in this album is asking for forgiveness for Sir Golem MCCARTNEY (and himself) for the deception...

I saw an interview of Ringo last night on "Access Hollywood" (US) or some similar program. He was at a gallery opening in New York as his paintings, etc. are being displayed there and the interviewer, an Englishman, asked him outright "Will you and Paul McCartney be going on tour together?" "No!" he responds with no hesitation. Stunned, the interviewer says "Really?" and Ringo says no again. Ringo then says "It will never happen so let's get that out there" or words to that effect. "Paul and I haven't toured since 1965..." the interiviewer says something about "billy" and Ringo inserts "...he tours with his band and I tour with mine." It was interesting. He wouldn't look at the camera or the interviewer and appeared VERY uncomfortable at the line of questions. he only made reference to Faul after the interviewer said something about "billy". Could be interpreted as - Paul and I will never tour becauses he's dead. What do y'all make of it? I'll try to scare up a link or clip. EDIT: Added the link www.accesshollywood.com/entertainment/4630562/detail.html

To be fair, his reaction was very expectable. I mean, what question do you think ex-beatles hear the most? I find little clue fodder in this one, other than the fact that he shows no optimism in regards to playing with "Paul" again (and not in the "because he's dead" sense of it). Most celebrities always have happy and at least semi-optimistic thigs to say about others in thier industry, especially with people they've worked with befor. But this reply is a more than obvious exception. Unless, of course, there was a fight I missed between the two. I know they worked together on some tracks on Flaming Pie... that means something about their relationship within the decade, right?

Re-watching at ALL the pictures published here by the various collectors, it really seems that Ringo HAD to be as a bodyguard for Paul. Looking at Sgt. Pepper wax figures postures it seems that Paul says Ringo: "Don't worry even if you've failed your aim" looking down the grave of the BEATLES... And maybe for THAT Ringo is the main character on MMT ... he DID NEED to look for a solution ... feeling guilty...

... and "Don't pass me by" means that Paul eluded Ringo's surveillance ...

I think of Ringo as more of a "handler" than a bodyguard...

So, does anyone have the lyrics for the new Ringo album yet?
tracks 5, 8 , and 11 seem to speak the most to the situations we investigate here.

Hasnt Ringo always jumped to with with George however in the past? The last time i think was George and Ringo in a Tom Petty video, or was it Traveling Willburys?
