To tell the truth, we can be certain that both boys are bisexual.
John and Paul both bonked lots of girls in their time, so to speak. However, John had a few guys...
JOHN:
As I read about John, I find more evidence of at least a LITTLE homoerotic behavior on his part. It seems that one time in Hamburg, John and Stu Sutcliffe came back to their room near the Kaiserkeller and lay down together on a couch because they were drunk out of their heads and, according to sources, Stu went down on John, to put it succinctly.
Then there's John's infamous trip to Spain in 1963 with Brian. Brian confided in gay friends that John gave him a b.j. on the trip and John said in a chance conversation once that he loved Brian more than he had ever loved a woman.
PAUL:
An unconfirmed source says Mick Jagger admitted in an interview on CNN that he and Paul had sex one drunken night in 1965. When Mick woke up the next day, Paul was leaving to go to the studio.
Not to spread slander or anything, but some of these stories come from reliable people.

Thank you Beatlestobattle... I'm not all that surprised. John was devastated when Paul died. He was also very upset when Stu died. John liked to act like he was a hard person. Far from it. Look at the beautiful songs that he's written. Songs full of feelings. John had a tender heart. Yoko took full advantage of this. She manipulated that poor man using her strong will, her feminine wiles & drugs... It was a terrible thing to witness... I'm sure that they both experimented. They might have even been bi-sexual. Sometimes people like that find partners in their lives not so much by what sex they are. I think to men like John & Paul, it had more to do with compatibility. Mental, emotional & physical attraction. Love to all... Chris

*ahem* getting back on topic...
yes, the love that john and paul had shared was very obvious. they loved each other very much (not necesarily gay love) and once paul died, a part of john was lost forever. he never found that kind of love again. poor guy.

I agree with most of that. Although, after looking over some of John's solo work, I think that he loved Paul in a different way then Paul loved him. For the most part...Just my opinion of course... Love to all... Chris

Goin back to Paul and John's relationship i do believe that they were "in love" as friends, not being a homosexual love.
I would like to draw a parellel between this relationship and, for those of you up on your English Literature, Alfred Lord Tennyson's relationship with his very close friend Arthur Hallum (albeit tennyson and hallum did not work creatively together).
Although it's pretty much taken for granted that they were not "gay", both men did love each other very much.
When Hallum died suddenly abroad (in his 20's?) Tennyson was so distraught it would take him years to get over it.
He finally managed to work through his grief in writing what is probably one of the greatest poems of all time, 'In Memoriam'.
I wonder if John also wrote an 'In Memoriam'...

I would add this interpretation:
"I'm just sittin' here doin' time..." (John imprisoned by the secret of Paul's death, and Faul's impersonation, unable to plainly TELL all...)
*'doing time' is a common term associated with jail, prison, and time sentenced into custody.....
** a physical reason John looked so gaunt and thin as the years progressed, culminating in 1980, was his strict macrobiotic diet....way more beyond radical than mere vegans.....he also commented that he "hoped the macrobiotic diet would keep the cancer away" as he was a constant chain smoker....

Has anyone here really studied the lyrics to Real Love. Not the version that Faul, George & Ringo released. John's demo version
One acoustic demo version I've found on the peer-ti-peer has totally differnt lyrics. The Paul interpretation of the final lyrics seems plausible to me, though.
I've also read differing accounts on whether it was written in 79, or 69. . .
