Started thinking that if Paul and Mick were such good friends, wouldn't Jagger know something was up?
Some songs/quotes from Stones' songs released after 1966 include some surprises:
Ruby Tuesday - (Bloody Tuesday...?)
- many references to "yesterday" in Stones' songs around this time)
She would never say where she came from Yesterday don't matter when it's gone While the sun is bright Or in the darkest night No one knows She comes and goes
Goodbye, Ruby Tuesday Who could hang a name on you? When you smile with every new day Still I'm gonna miss you
Sympathy for the Devil
And I laid traps for troubadours (musicians) Who get killed before they reached Bombay (i India)
Jig-Saw Puzzle
Oh the singer, he looks angry At being thrown to the lions And the bass player, he looks nervous About the girls outside And the drummer, he's so shattered Trying to keep up time And the guitar players look damaged
You can't Always Get What You Want
I went down to the Chelsea drugstore To get your prescription filled I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy And man, did he look pretty ill We decided that we would have a soda My favorite flavor, cherry red I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy (James...?) Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead" I said to him
Food for thought......

That's amazing work Father MacKenzie. I think you might be on to something with 'You can't always get what you want'.

I always thought he was referring to Hendrix, but maybe not.

Did Brian Epstein meet his transvestite "girlfriend" through the Stones? Is that why Lennon was so sure they were involved? How might this figure in to the Stones' joining the Church of Satan and The Beatles' refusing?
