I get shivers also when playing that 1 part on the White Album, between I'm So Tired & Blackbird...you know the part I mean. In fact, it was 1 of the original clues... "Paul is dead now, miss him, miss him, miss him."...very freaky. In fact, it blows my mind out in a car, I didn't notice that the lights had changed!

Just listened to that for the first time, and the snippets of choral music are very interesting. I'm pretty sure that they are taken from a requiem mass, although not sure which one. I'll do a little digging and let you know if I turn up anything.

Can anyone pick out stuff and put a time on it so we can listen to some clues people pick up?
I have heard this before and it is just so freaky.

Ok, I wanted to get Revolver this week, but I guess now my curiosity is up--I will have to get the white album. I guess this is the tour de force, the maximum late Beatle opus.
A requiem mass----whoa! Obvious requiems that pop in mind are, Bach B minor(maybe not exactly a requiem), the Mozart Requiem (wouldn't that be choice, given the mythical implications of The Magic Flute debacle, the mysterious man with the mask, and the shadow of Salieri.........) Missa Solemnis by Beethoven, the Verdi Requiem (which I think was not really about a death, but about patting Verdi on his own back!) and the Durefle Requiem-----well I haven't listened yet so I am shooting in ignorance. The period and maybe composer will be evident from the CD. I have'nt kept up my classical listening--I'll be rusty.
Perhaps an opera excerpt---Don Giovanni or Faust might have been considered..........
OK i quit guessing. Curious stays on top of his legit repetoire; he'll know.

That's scary! I could hear a crash, flames and Paul or someone calling "get me out!" as well!

I heard the car crash too.
And as for the requiem mass, I recognise it, but can't quite place it. It has the purity of Bach and Mozart choral music, but seems too lightweight for Beethoven, who tended to weigh in with heavy harmonies in the traditional Teutonic manner.
I can categorically rule out Verdi's Requiem and Faure's Requiem, both of which I know inside out. I'll have a listen to the Mozart, though - if I can find it upstairs - you might be onto something there, Perplexed.

Yes, Beethoven like a bold approach, doesn't it seem?
I 'll look for yours and others revelations about the choral selection...................

That's scary! I could hear a crash, flames and Paul or someone calling "get me out!" as well! Well, then, did you hear the bus crash on the song Magical Mystery Tour? Listen again; when they are singing "roll up....roll up for the mystery tour..." the sound of a bus or car goes by....then crank your volume as much as you can stand, and the sound of the vehicle going by turns to skidding and a CRASH. By the time the vehicle skids and crashes, the sound is buried very faintly in the mix...but you can still pick it out clearly!
