That's very interesting.
I know that a cartoonist must use the real character's main features (skull shape, chin shape, etc.) to make the observer recognize him, and then he can exaggerate his main features (example, Ringo's nose) to make it cartoonized.
So, this change in Pauls main features says something.

Very interesting. EMI probably sent along a memo with suggestions and/or sketches to the animators.
I wonder if the difference can be pinpointed as to when the look switched?
Along with production dates and such. . .
