I thought Faul wrote that song and gave it to Badfinger when they first got signed to Apple. So...maybe it was Faul's way of relating the initial proposition - the opportunity he was given to portray James Paul. "If you want it, here it is, come and get it..." it's like he's being made an offer, the offer to get involved in the whole deception. "Did I hear you say that there must be a catch? Will you walk away from a fool and his money?" That could go for Faul and his relatives and the people surrounding him at the time - lots of money involved. I hear this song and imagine a man in black with a big cigar in his grinning mouth, holding a briefcase full of dough in Faul's face. Real sleazy like. "Sonny, if you want it, here it is...come and get it..."
