Okay, this has been bugging me for a long time now... in "Strawberry Fields Forever," around the time the psychedelic sounds kick in near the end, I can hear very, very low voices. No matter how much I raise the volume, I can't make anything out. It sounds like John shouting something. The first word sounds like "PAUL!", but after that, it's beyond me.
Does anyone know what's being said here? I've always had a pet theory that these are the voices of John and the others when they saw Paul's corpse, but of course, there's no evidence of that and it's just based off of what I think could be him screaming "Paul." Really, has anyone had any success in amplifying this?

I'm not sure where the "psychedelic sounds" kick in, it all sounds pretty psychedelic to me.
If you are talking about in the fade-out, fade-in, about 3:30, where I first hear voices, it sounds like talking or yelling, but there's no way to decipher it by listening to the release.
There is a process called OOPS (Out of Phase Stereo) that can isolate vocals from instrumental tracks and it is surprising how different everything sounds. You might ask at the yahoo group beatlegs.
By the way, if you have the 1st US Visit video, listen to what John plays on the melodica in the hotel room before the 1st Sullivan. The first 3 notes of Strawberry Fields. In 1963!

Admittingly that was a bad description, but it's after 2:30 AM here. Yes, the fade-in, fade-out.
And yeah, John had the medley for Strawberry Fields kicking around in his head for some time, but it wasn't until late '66 that he wrote the lyrics.
