McCartney was born on June 18, 1942. So, when Abbey Road came out in 1969, that's 1969 - 1942 which = 27. So what is the clue supposed to mean then if Paul would have been 27?
I conducted more research, and I found out that John Lennon was 28 when it was released. So is this "clue" directed to him, or is it not a clue at all?

I believe that abbey road was supposed to come out a year later than it did, so the cover was planned for when JPM would have been 28. [glow=blue,2,300]edit[/glow]: According to 60IF, "So we were tempted in the last album to reveal the truth but corporate managers and lawyers prevented it. The reference "28IF" on the Volksvagen plate in the "Abbey Road" cover is correct because the album was to suppose to come out a year later than it actually did but there was a fear that some of the truth would come out prematurely so it was released earlier. Abbey Road was definitely going to be the last album but when the PID rumours began flying, they panicked and rushed it out early - Let It Be was recorded before Abbey Road and originally was supposed to come out first.
Two big clues on the Abbey Road album that it was to be the last - the word "Beatles" is in broken letters siginifying the group breaking up. Also, the last song on the album (minus the secret bonus track) is entitled "The End".

Exactly: Let it Be should have been the next to last album, Abbey Road the big finale.
Perhaps that long medley in the second half is a protracted "epilogue" to the whole Beatles story. Like a tie up of certain loose ends, and a set up for what may be to come from their solo carreers.
Then there is the whole Phil Spector brou-hah and his wall of sound polish-up that he slapped on to Let it Be, that so offended Paul (or Bill.) Poor man is in the pokey for alledged murder. Who knows--------why does it seem big rock figures don't keep track of the goings on of their guests any better?
Maybe living in a bungalow is less hazardous to a eccentric wealthy pop icon in the long run............
So, releases dates being fudged the way they are, 28IF may fit a release year of 1970.
When was the photo shoot done for Abbey Road? Anyone know?

Also, if Abbey Road had been the last album as intended, then what was the "bonus" track after The End?
"Her Majesty".... the last little snippet of a James Paul recording, correct? It was a fitting way to go out.

and the lyrics:
she's a friend of mine........or is it
one day I'm gonna make her mine
implies favor and gratitude (albeit with a comic style)toward the Crown.
the wine business---------well, comic familiarity.

Well, Let It Be was written by Paul about the upcoming demise of the Beatles, so it WOULD have made more sense to make Let It Be the next to last album, especially since the Let It Be sessions were in 1969.
But The Beatles didn't want to touch those tapes again, so the album wasn't made.
