but what happens next in the song? Billy Preston was there I beleve (you can hear the keyboard), but who does something next, Bill, or Bill(y)?

the link opens up some error page, probabl to do with exceeded bandwidth. But I think I can safely assume they're referring to Preston.

TPI, that is a fantastic find. And once again Johnny has laid out another "clue for y'all". I am sure he means Bill because he wanted all and sundry to know Paul was replaced. Johnny didn't miss too many opportunities. Good thing Johnny was a genius and a lot of brain cells to spare! Even stoned out of his head, he was brilliant.

You are brilliant, TPI! I think at first Bill thought it was rather a lark and he was supposed to do his thing and go away.
Maybe he just wanted a way to prove to others later that it was him......who knows.
