Here is Paul with two other actors, in a scene which was cut from Help! Help was filmed between Feb and May 1965, when Paul was 22 years old.
Definetly looks about 22.
Compares favorably with this shot, of Paul with Jane Asher:
Again, made in 1966, probably when he was 23.
Now, this next photo corresponds to the final Beach sequence in Help! Well, looks 22, but something seems different in skull shape and features orientation. Hard to describe:
Here, also, a Help! photo. This one is at a variance with the first two. And, as far as 22 years old, well, more like 27:
And this next pic? Also Help. 22 years? No, not seemingly. Does it resemble the first two pictures on this post?
Not so much:
Here is James Paul in profile between Ringo and John.

Notice how fresh and young the appearence. April, 1966. Again, he would have been 23 years old at this point, about 2 months before his 24th birthday.
Here is the shot a moment later. The camera pans across all four Beatles, from right to left. First we should see Ringo, then Paul, then John, and last George. But, that is NOT what happens. When we get to where Paul should be, there is a dissolve frame over to John, so, where Paul should be sitting, based on the 4 profiles shot before, we get this instead:

How terribly, terribly odd. Perhaps they felt Paul did not look up to par in the shot, so they excised him out. They inserted a dissolve from Ringo straight to John. Hmmm. I wonder why. Maybe they---did not want us to see Paul's face here. DId it---shudder--not correspond to the other shots of him in the same video? Or, perhaps they felt we had seen too much of the Help! outfit, you know, the turtle neck and blazer we've been seeing so much off.
(James Paul wore nearly the same outfit from the opening scenes of Help! in the original Paperback Writer video.)
So, too much of the outfit.
Well, but no, cause here's the turtle neck and blazer again:

My, my, this must have been filmed at a slightly different time, say, 2 or 3 years later? 23 years old? I think 28, 29 years---just my critical eye. I mean, 29 isn't old for sure, but it isn't 23. Maybe he has not been sleeping much. Or, dare I say, it's the "drugs?" Well, the profile shot looks well rested, and drug free. Actually, the look here is NOT drugs, it simply----a little bit older.
Well, one thing is for sure, the haircut DOES not match from two shots ago (the profile) to this one. Or, well, sorry to say, the coloring of the complexion. Well, I guess they had a barber and a make-up artist around to create these wonderful effects. Certainly no one from continuity screamed,"His hair cut doesn't match! Put some more rouge on those cheeks!"
But who is this in the turtle-neck/blazer outfit? It does not seem like the same person at all as in the first two pictures up top, to me. Perhaps I have a facial recognition disability.
I dunno. Is it just me? 'Cause sometimes it is, you know. Or is this intriguingly unusual?
But, what could this mean? Well, I don't know what it means. But, what it implies to me, is, they reshot many scenes of the movie Help! , and they reshot certain scenes, and reedited the Paperback Writer video. We've been looking at William in that one, save for the brief profile sequence, I feel. Pretty amazing little bit of editing. Unbelievably convincing.
Let me mention, Feb 1965 is when "Another Girl" was shot for Help! That is the song the Beatles sing on the beach in the Bahamas, shortly before the end of the film. Well, in a certain scene set-up, the island behind Ringo is free of grass, dead. That is appropriate. That is the dry season, so, the grasses are withered in February. Later, there is one last shot. The island behind Ringo is green, verdant. The rainy season in the Bahamas begins in late July and goes till November. What I am sayong is, the complete change of sky, grass, and water color and texture tells me it's another day. The green grass tells me it HAS to be not Feb 65 but at least July of 65. My bet is, it was 2 or 3 years llater, as well......
That scene was reshot, probably in the Fall of 1968. Many shots are edited in fo William, especially the close-ups. Some are super-impositions over older footage of Ringo.
My point? Help! was pulledout of circulation in 1966. It was in re-release. It was yanked. That much I know from WQXI-AM Atlanta radio dee-jay Skinny Bobby Harper. Well, I mean, we all heard that on our local radio.
Then they refilmed many many scenes. "Help!", as we have it today, seems to be a composite of two separate shooting schedules. JMO.
And, Paperback Writer, and Rain. And Hard Days Night.
We are not looking at the originals.
They are gone.
This is all well and good. What else could be done?
So, I realize now, billy is the one we see in 85% of Hard Days Night, Help, and most videos. What were the Beatles doing in between MMT and the White Album?
Endless reshoots. Of practically everything. And, often, the telling of it, is in George's face. George seems to have had a little jaw/chin augmentation and dental improvements after Sargent Pepper's. The newer George has a fuller jawline, a more maniish, mature face, heavier, deeper eyes, and re-done outer eye creases. They became more open. George looks alternately
22, then 28, then 22, then 28 all throughout Help!
I suddenly think of TKIN!, and this:
However his face as presented was wonderfully compatible in regards to his profile elements displacement and to jawbone shape, two key factors in determining the correct candidate that the cosmetic surgeons could use.
Despite this, there were a number of differences:

All the kings horses, and all the king's eggmen, put Humpty-Dumpty back together again.
Goo-goo ga-Joob!
