The second one seems different somehow...distorted to droop Fauls left eye The first one seem pretty stock.. All in all, two different 'Pauls' and the songs on each CD go with the proper, umm 'Paul'. Comments?

That's weird because in the second one it looks like fauls face has been stretched or something, yet the others don't show this attribute, so to me that would suggest clear evidence of doctoring of just "paul"
So why would they do that?
Because he doesn't quite look enough like JPM!

The 'old' Beatles photo looks fine. The 'new' one looks like a distorted Funhouse mirror effect. My view is that the 'new' photo is compressed- check JL's buttons, but to confuse the eye, GH's correct face was pasted on; that chin shade line is too strong (Faul's is about as strong but he's lower and more lit from above). GH's chin shade line looks doctored in the 'old' photo to make it appear similiar to the 'new' photo.

Hey good stuff Moped. It would seem that I mixed in some stuff from some 'naughty boys', if you know what I mean.. Have you heard of Dr. Ebbetts? The UK singles is probably not a Parlophone/EMI release at all but an independent reconstruction of sorts using modern digital copies of pristine vintage mono vinyl... I think They certainly used a very distorted, altered copy of that pic..

Ahh DZ, I was viewing those like it was a 70's era compilation, and was thinking about how they did that distortion in old-school terms, but this is photoshop-era. Dr. Ebbetts- do know them. I have some myself, like Yesterday and Today (duophonic, baby), the US Hard Day's Night with those campy GM instrumentals . Love to get them all. What's on this one? Is it like Past Masters? Ebbetts has great sound quality and accuracy, at least when working with the original albums, and the artwork is spot on faithful to those from what I can tell. This particular artwork, though, is quite strange, but it's a Rubber Soul "trippy" effect, something a lot of bootleggers do. The worse distortion is more subtle, where it doesn't look off to a casual glance, but it is...it goes from "trippy" to "tampered".

Ok, it looks like all the UK singles (duh...), while Past Masters doesn't include songs already on the albums but has stuff like Sie Liebt Dich etc. I like that artwork with all the 45s too...interesting comp. Thanks for the nice pics!
