Someone had to have filmed the event...is there anywhere online that anyone knows of where I could see it (or is it possible to get it on tape/DVD?) Thanks.

You may be referring to something else, but "Beatlemania Live" is the name of the Faul-endorsed Beatles tribute band. They play all over the world. Apparently, they're part of Wolfman Jacks stable of tribute bands & impersonators. I'd be willin' to bet they're the best of the lot & make the most $. Those guys are absolutely awsome & you should see them if ya ever get a chance.

Yup, that's what I meant. I had read about them and I figured that it was an event, not the name of the band. Thanks for clearing that up. I'll have to check in to them. Thanks again

Dude; the ORIGINAL Beatlemania, circa '75-'83 was filmed and a full-length movie was released of the entire multi-media show. You should be able to find one on e-bay or do an internet search for specialty music videos. The movie was from 1977, or '76 I think. I saw Beatlemania 4 times, at Cleveland's Palace Theatre. The band was SO GOOD that they indeed played every song note for note; nailed every vocal. They looked and sounded EXACTLY like the Beatles. At one show, we were let in early, and the guys were on stage in street clothes doing a sound check. They asked for requests from the audience, a song not in the show. I yelled out, "Tomorrow Never Knows!" and they played a couple verses. Marshall Crenshaw portrayed Lennon in the original Broadway production of Beatlemania, for trivia buffs. The show was a pioneer in multi-media presentations. They had a stage-wide screen behind the band, constantly showing films of the periods, and trippy graphics, and occasionally a transparent screen was lowered in front of the band, onto which film and graphics were also projected...creating a 3-D illusion, with the faux Beatles clearly visable in between! It was awesome. I believe Lennon himself saw the original production, and I have heard he was impressed and dug it, and also that he was very pissed off and wanted Klein to sue the show...

I saw Beatlemania in 1978 at the Shubert Theater in Los Angeles. Great show.
Two things stand out, and they had little to do with the show.
Before the show, an announcer came on and said "We would like to remind the audience that there is to be no smoking anything in the auditorium." That got a good laugh from the room.
Also, when the "Paul" came forward and sang "Yesterday" at the front of the stage, the room grew very quiet. At the end of the song, right before the applause started, a black woman seated in my row shouted out "All right white boy!" Again, laughs throught the theater.

I also dug when they did the Sgt. Pepper era, they came out in the suits and when the bass part for 'A Day in the Life' kicked in, the paul guy stood with his back to the audience for many moments...just like on the infamous Pepper back cover photo! It was a very slick, classy, extremely well done program.
They should bring it back!

I saw a Beatlemania show just last summer at a casino. The show was called "The Cast of Beatlemania" It was fun, we sat right up front - which spoiled the illusion. John looked & sounded right, Paul sounded but didn't look right, Ringo had that perfect "head-cock"pose (see the 1st sullivan show), George nailed every note but looked to be in his mid 50s and with that wig looked a bit like Tim Conway.
There is one tribute band, I think it is 'Rain' but I could be wrong, a friend saw them at the Beatles festival in Liverpool last summer, they performed the complete White Album.

There is also a very popular, well-established tribute band here in the midwest called "1964." -just give me the Rickenbackers and nobody gets hurt!
