What info do folks have on Bobby Breen, featured in the funeral scene on the Pepper LP cover? Bobby Breen: Boy soprano Married 3 times Gave up his movie career to pursue his night club singing act. Bobby Breen was Born November 4, 1927 in Toronto, Canada and was the most popular male child singer in the 1930's. He came from a talented musical family and had a singing career on the stage and screen, as well as on radio. His manager and voice coach was his older sister, Sally. To the delight of audiences everywhere, Bobby sang in English, French, Italian, and Spanish. His adult show business career extended through the 1960's. Breen appeared in nine films between 1936 and 1942. Four of those films earned single Oscar noms, three for Best Original Score and one for Best Scoring. Breen's last appearance in JOHNNY DOUGHBOY (1942) did not afford him the chance to sing solo but only gave him one number, shared with Alfalfa Switzer and Spanky McFarland. The plot revolved around has-been child stars trying to get together a USO show. Featured on the cover of the Beatles' "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". link

He was a great singer. My guess is that one of the Beatles was a fan and I'd bet it was Paul...or Faul, since Breen is Canadian. Interesting.

There seems to be a very strong Canadian string running through the Faul repertoire.....and through those on M4E. Coincidence? I don't think so.
