They're claiming it was suicide. The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side. -- Hunter S. Thompson

On the Jeff Rense show 2/21/05 Sherman Skolnick said a friend of Hunter Thompson said that Thompson was working on a report that was going to run in Rolling Stone magazine about the homosexual prostitute ring link to Washington DC politicians. This would have likely exposed a situation pretty close to the president who, Skolnick claims, may have had Jeff Gannon (aka Guckert) living in the White House with the Bushes as an (ahem) aide prior to his becoming a press correspondent(!). He went on to say that if Guckert was the source of the White House leak that resulted in Valerie Plane being exposed as a CIA agent, it would point to Bush being the source of the information.

They're also claiming Gannon is really Johnny Gosch!! (google it) Supposedly Gisch's mother didn't discount the idea out of hand. I don't know if I'm buying this one yet. Here is Gosch at 12, and "Gannon": An "age progression enhanced" picture of Gosch, as he may have appeared at 18, and "Gannon":

A New York Post article today 2/22/05, P. 20, " 'Shoot Me From Cannon' 'Gonzo' king's last request on funeral" Article says: "He's [Thompson] talking about a funeral, great funeral. Typical Hunter ranting, nothing out of the ordinary about that"...."And then he walked into the next room...and pow." (A friend's description of what alledgedly happened. ) (Thompson's biographer, E. Jean Carroll said following in article): "For the last six months, Hunter has been in a lot of pain, physical pain" and added: "spinal surgery and hip-related ailments had put the...author in a wheelchair at times."

"There were no direct witnesses to Hunter S. Thompson's "suicide," only a convenient ear-witness phone call reminiscent of Barbara Olson's alleged 911 "cell phone call", which neatly supplied the essential details of the Arab hijacker scenario, supposedly as it occured. Untaped and impossible to verify phone call evidence aside (neither Olson's 911 "call" nor Thompson's "suicide call" was recorded), did Hunter Thompson tell us who killed him and made it look like suicide, a year before they did it? Check out this exchange from Hunter's interview with Mary Suma, KDNK in January, 2003: " ==== HUNTER S. THOMPSON: I think a lot of people in this country agree with me. A lot more never say anything. We'll see what happens to me if I get my head cut off in the next week by -- it's always unknown Bush [inaudible] strangers who commit suicide right afterward. No witnesses. They have a new kind of crime. MARY SUMA: Is that the CIA kind of crime? HUNTER S. THOMPSON: Oh, absolutely. Anyone who's a successful criminal has got a crime. Absolutely no witnesses, no records. We can go on and on. I have to be restrained on the subject. ==== audio: www.indybay.org/uploads/hunter_thompson_aug29_2002.mp3

"He knew who I was, at that time, because I had a reputation as a writer. I knew he was part of the Bush dynasty. But he was nothing, he offered nothing, and he promised nothing. He had no humor. He was insignificant in every way and consequently I didn't pay much attention to him. But when he passed out in my bathtub, then I noticed him. I'd been in another room, talking to the bright people. I had to have him taken away." -- Hunter S. Thompson on meeting George W. Bush at Thompson's Super Bowl party in Houston in 1974

"SUICIDE FUELS CONSPIRACY BUZZ" (New York Post, p.12 in "PAGE SIX" column, 3/4/05)
Was Hunter S Thompson's mysterious death really a suicide? There are some serious irregularities surrounding the demise of the gonzo author, who was found shot to death in the kitchen of his Woody Creek, Colo. ranch on Feb 20, and local cops seemed to have done a lackluster job of investigating. Police reports obtained by the Rocky Mountain News note that cops arriving on the scene heard shots being fired, that Thompson's son Juan was allowed to be alone with the body, and that there was something odd about the gun Thompson alledgedly used to kill himself. Before his death, Thompson seemed in good spirits and was not known to be depressed. And considering his long-winded style, the absence of a note seems strange - he'd only typed the single word "counselor". There were no eyewitnesses to the shooting, only an "earwitness" - Thompson's wife, Anita, who was on the phone with him at the time and who later drank scotch with the corpse. Her account of the incident is inconsistent: She has alternately said she heard a loud, muffled noise and that she heard nothing but a clicking. The behavior of Juan, who was in the house at the time of the shooting, was also unusual. Pitkin County Deputy Sheriff John Armstrong said that when investigators arrived on the scene they heard shots, but Juan assured them he had merely been firing off a salute to his dead dad. Investigator Joseph DiSalvo also let Juan enter the kitchen alone and drape a scarf over the body. And in his report, Deputy Ron Ryan noted the semi-automatic Smith & Wesson 645 found next to Thompson's body was in an unusual condition. There was a spent shellcasing, but although there were six bullets left in the gun's clip, there was no bullet in the firing chamber, as there would have been under normal circumstances. DiSalvo said he did not check the gun, adding, "I think a bullet from the magazine should have cycled into the chamber" unless there was a "malfunction". A spent slug was found in the stove hood behind the body. Conspiracy theorists make much of the fact that Thompson had been working on a far-fetched story about the World Trade Center attack at the time of his death. As Canada's Globe and Mail reported, Thompson had "stumbled across what he felt was hard evidence showing the towers had been brought down not by the airplanes that had flown into them, but by explosive charges set off in their foundations."

TotalInformation - I see your site was on Rense today ;D I read somewhere about Ganno/Gosch writing a book/expose via a Russian Publishing house based in Malaysia - I wonder how long before a so called 'terrorist attack' happens in Malaysia, that just happens to destroy that office?

wait..... "Lincoln, NE -- March 28, 2005 -- TomFlocco.com -- Recently arrested photographer Russell E. "Rusty" Nelson--who according to U.S. District court testimony [2-5-1999] was impersonated by another photographer at Capitol Hill child sex parties during the Reagan and Bush presidencies, told us last week that in 1988 he refused Hunter Thompson’s offer of $100,000 to film a graphic child sex "snuff movie to be sold to wealthy private clients where a young boy would be murdered as a sacrifice." "I’ve been homeless, in hiding and staying under the radar screen ever since," said Nelson. Thompson reportedly committed suicide a few weeks ago on February 10, 2005--six days prior to Nelson’s February 16 arrest, when simultaneous search warrants were served to confiscate Nelson’s photographic equipment, computers, photos and "visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct involving a child," according to copies we obtained. Nelson said authorities were hoping to find evidence of child porn; but he claims to have never been involved. His next public hearing is May 4 in Lincoln. Nelson enhanced his credibility in sworn testimony before Nebraska U.S. Senior District Judge Warren Urbom on February 5, 1999 [pp. 101-154] resulting in Urbom awarding attorney John DeCamp's client--pedophile victim Paul Bonacci, $1 million dollars in damages for sexual abuse in a case against convicted GOP activist Larry King, who sang the national anthem at the 1984 and 1988 Republican national conventions......................... Questions can also be raised as to whether Hunter Thompson’s death and the James Guckert-Jeff Gannon White House reporter scandal resulted in having Nelson taken out of circulation to intimidate or threaten him while also using the opportunity to search for criminal evidence--the kind which would place sitting and retired members of congress in severe legal jeopardy. The revelations came during an unexpected phone call from Nelson, 42, who also told TomFlocco.com he personally witnessed Secret Service agents arrive at King’s Embassy Row mansion in Washington to set up security two days prior to a private child sex party attended by senators and congressmen he declined to name. The party was held immediately after a public political reception in October, 1988--just prior to the Bush-Dukakis presidential election. The Gannon/Guckert/Gosch story is one that I struggle daily to keep up with.
Blogs have been talking about the possible connection between the child prostitution ring uncovered in Washington (google Conspiracy of Silence, Boystown prostitution, Johnny Gosch, etc...) and Hunter S. Thompson's supposed suicide... Apparently during the investigation into these missing children lots of crazy allegations were brought up by various people, including a "snuff film" where a young child was killed on camera. The questioning that led to this information also revealed that the "director" of this film was "Hunter Thompson".... further fuel was thrown on this fire by the fact that one of "Jeff Gannon"'s first articles posted on his new website after he became infamous recently was entitled "Fear and Loathing in the Press Room", hinting that Gannon is at least a fan of Hunter's work... another fact that caused speculation was that less than a week after Hunter S. Thompson's "suicide" a photographer who was somehow involved in the alleged child prostitution ring was arrested out of nowhere following years of being ignored. Rusty something.... seriously, google all of that, it's fascinating stuff...
The reason I just wrote all of that is because I just noticed that the book that is photographed at the top of this thread is called "Hey Rube"... an obvious play on the Beatles song "Hey Jude".... I know it was the name of his continuing series of articles on ESPN.com, but it's a weird coincidence... where did that title come from? was the idea of the article that he was writing to some unknown guy named "rube"? it's probably nothing...

Yeah I read that article yesterday and I was like "Wow, TotalInformation got a mention!"
No real new info, they just point to the age differences between what Guckert says he is now the age Johnny Gosch would be now. They go on to mention that the school Guckert claims to have attended confirms that they have him on file as having graduated in 1980. I heard this same "confirmation" a couple of weeks ago if I remember correctly.
The logical next step is for some intrepid journalist to head down to PA (it IS West Chester University, right? I forget) and try to make sure that the person the university says graduated in 1980 is Guckert. This I have not seen yet. Also, how come I haven't seen anyone interview Guckert yet? Where's that book that I heard he was supposed to be writing?
