Yes, this case is well-known, and "old news", but I never considered the possibility that the Beatles might be hinting at it in "Here Come the Sun King". I don't think they would have been, because the replacement didn't occur 'til 1972, it would seem. A great example, none-the-less BP.

I don't think they would have been, because the replacement didn't occur 'til 1972, it would seem. A great example, none-the-less BP. Just a thought, and a theory. We have seen, many of us here, and I think even commented on, finding at one time or another, a web article detailing some of the arcane Masonic rituals that are perscribed. Now, who knows if these are real, or if they are fictions thrown up on the net to mis-direct. But, anyway, as far as this goes, there is the "Hiram Abiff" ritual that I think is for some early degree, 2nd, or 3rd, I do not remember (according to claims). Anyway, this "ritual" is presumably preformed on a regular basis by older members with, or for, the younger, newer ones, as they advance to it. So, there is an on-going reality of a "Hiram Abiff" incident, or story, or acted out legend. "Hiram Abiff" impacted someone in 1900, and will impact someone in 2007. Could there likewise be a tradition, or a ritual, in Catholicism, for example, of a "SunKing" coming, or a Sun arriving, etc? Maybe not Catholic, maybe some other arcane group. I.e., "Here Comes the Sun" had meaning in 1968, 1972, and later, and on and on. Not just one time, for certainly we know of the "Sunking" story from late French aristocracy. In fact, that is the original? Or, maybe it isn't. Maybe it was only yet another application of an on-going "theater" of secrets among the initiated inwhatever particular group it applies. Sounds a bit like Egyptian Mystery School thinking.

And BTW, the picture of the Pope above---he doesn't match too well. While one could argue angle, head tilt, and lighting to some degree, in both casesit just seems like a different guy---and the age is not agreeing. The original Pope seems younger, with a more extended nose, smaller chin, and a rounder ear. There is also a different look in the eye (in spite of glasses). The second man is deaded in the eyes. The nasal wings appear to express a further distance from the tear ducts in the man on the left.
Now, if these pictures were tainted at the source (meaning, long before you found'em), that could explain some of this, and maybe it is a game someone played long ago.
Again---how does one decide? We are over thirty years after the fact now.

Well, being Catholic myself I'm not aware of any "Sun King" ritual. There is a lot out there on Freemasonry. I certainly have my thoughts on that. While I do think it sinister, most of the participants never rise to a level where they actually know what they're participating in. For them it's mostly done for "cronyism" and the benefits that accrue to members. For those who get into this claptrap you can really go down the rabbit hole. It really leads back to Johanism or, even further, someone's ideas of Egyptian mystery religions. It's sort of a gnostic thing. I don't think anything good could come of it.
