from 60-IF: "...Without our knowing it, he inserted phrases into the tracks which whispered the truth. He risked wrecking everything but the phrases were replaced in the next copies of the albums...."
so...there are original copies of SGT. PEPPER with "inserted phrases" by john, and subsequent copies which lack these phrases? could someone shed light on what this is saying?
i remember john was supposed to have said "you hear more with mono" in connection with SGT. PEPPER. should i dig out that cd of the mono mix of pepper?

Original Mono mixes of Sgt. Pepper are available at finer CD stores; they are imports and cost more.
It is said the Beatles were directly involved with making the mono master mix; I think John commented once that,"we spent 2 weeks doing the mono mix; we spent 2 days doing the stereo."
In any event, it definately would be VERY DIFFERENT sounding...could someone who has a mono version report on it? -Ian
