I finally studied the end of yellow submarine, where all beatles are present talking. i figured i was going to see faul, considering the film came out in 1968, but to my surprise its james paul. The rest of the band looks like what they did in 66. So this portion of the film must have been recorded prior to his death. Oddly enough he says a joke about "fixing a hole" a song also released posthumously. If anyone has info on when that part of the film was recorded, I'd love to hear a reply

"Yellow Submarine" cartoon film is "so much" probably that it was planned on 1966 before James Paul's death.

I saw that clip on the unauthorised DVD set and was surprised when I saw it; I thought they had really got Bill looking very like Paul there! ;D

of course it's open to debate, but i think this is faul. though the resemblance to jp is striking on this picture. i think one should see the video to make a good judgement in this one. it also shows his right profile, which shows the difference to jp more clearly.

It's got to be Faul. None of them started growing beards/moustaches until after Paul's death, unless, of course, Ringo's moustache was falsified.

But they all look younger than any 67 photo I've seen, and happier no less. I wish I could write this one off as faul, but the personality the movement and expressions are JPM, faul is very predictable with his JPM imitations this clip shows a very natural fellow, also the voice is JPM low and very liverpoolian. I disagree and think the profile fits JPM.(he's attractive) The timeline is confusing but seems that this is a late 66 video shoot, John with his recently aquired granny glasses from how i won the war, and we know ringo grew a mustache before 66 was over. I think this video may be the last filming of JPM, as I mentioned before he says a crack about Fixing a hole, strange because that was a sgt pepper song i think we can all agree is primarily a JPM vocal. I checked several stills and none appear like faul. I think a fade is necessary to disclose this mystery clip. If the findings show that this is faul Then my one year + belief that JPM was replaced will be shattered LOOK CLOSELY PEOPLE USE YOUR EYES EARS AND GUT. Its the one and only cute Beatle, James Paul Mccartney Do the Geometry

One last point They sing a song after the clip i think its called "all together now?" the song starts with Paul singing solo and is unmistakably JPM's voice. Also if you still think its Faul then cover half his face and look soley at the left side of his face(on our right) you'll see JPM. Our brains tend to focus on the left side of people's faces (hence the whole eyebrow trickery w/ fauls photo's)

So...

I have to agree with you SK. The guy in the photo doesn't have hair on the back of his hands and Paul did. Also the eyes are not quite JPM's. Although I do have to agree that, generally speaking, the Beatles rarely looked that happy after Paul's death. Therefore, I am surprised to realize it's Faul. Or is this one of the tampered with pictures/video?

Yes Sun King I'm 27 and have been brainwashed from the time i was born. Even as a kid I used to wonder about who was singing what songs(beatles songs) and always was confused with pauls voice. I have been with this form for a long time and don't intend to leave it. I could be wrong(about the sub clip), I admit I haven't studied as many pictures, etc as you have sun king, for this I applaud you The switch is plain as day when comparing late JPM 66 to late 66, early 67 of faul.(watch strawberry field/fool on the hill). An overlay would really put this to rest Love

I think it's Faul there. Not Paul but an incredible simulation! He's got Faul's eyes. Project a few years and pounds forward and you've got "Let it Be" Faul.

In this picture to me, they do look a more like "Revolver" era Beatles than "Pepper" Beatles. Interesting, I'd seen that clip before and always just assumed they were post "Pepper" and pre "White Album". This forum is fascinating.

John´s look differen than 66, much. Just look at glasses, half beard and hairstyle
Look at Lady Madonna video. That is the look they have also in Yellow Submarine, that photo is 1968, not 1966
I see clearly Faul, the eyes are not James.

Hamlet's right. You wont find a picture of Lennon with hair that long prior to late '67.

After Paul died, John just went crazy. He let his hair grow super long and he looks like he aged 20 years. Not to mention, he really started doing heavier drugs and doing them more often.
Though that picture looks like Paul, it isn't because there is no hair on the back of "Paul's" hand. The real Paul had hair on the backs of his hands.

I'd say that clip had Faul looking about as close to Paul as he ever got! It would have to be after the second set of plastic surgery (April 67).

Really it's this kind of thing that prevents me from believing that paul really died. We have a photo here that is obviously not pre 66, because of John's hair. I agree with Sapa that It's pauls voice, too. Most of the photos on this forum show faul v paul looking very different, because we are all on the lookout for these contrasting images, actively looking for them. But when we come across photos where faul/paul look the same, why do we doubt these photos? Like the fool on the hill photo recently posted, (the closeup of faul's eyes) The photo shows green eyes, so it must be faul, right? Yet the conclusion of the post is that it is actually paul, because the features line up.... Surely we can't have it both ways? It's just too complicated. Look forward to some comments

After the Sgt. Pepper release, some of them may have tidied up their appearance a bit. I remember seeing a photo of Faul clean-shaven (moustache removed) in about June 67. So it's possible others went back to the pre-67 look, even if only until their hair grew again. I think they may have been when they filmed that sequence. We would need to see other photos from around that time to help substantiate this THEORY of mine.

I have to agree with you Paul Bearer. They cleaned up their look after Sgt Pepper. They grew the mustaches to resemble Faul who needed it to cover some plastic surgery scars until they healed.
Later they all grew their hair fairly long, except Faul and he just looked shaggy. Then he grew a beard and then shaved it
