I think they replaced Paul because I think a lot of time and money
were invested in the Beatles and they had not yet paid off when Paul
died; they had built up a tremendous potential but had not yet captialized on it--even by the time the Beatles had broken up they
still will not yet compensated commensurate with the status they
had achieved in the record industry--read Lennon's rants the time. So they had to do it . Not only that. I think the reason that so much
was invested in the Beatles was that there was a use that was intended for the Beatles which use was not quite completed by the time Paul died. Alternatively, some in power may have sought to harness the power of the Beatles to manipulate and influence a generation of young people in America and Britain and Europe-- and
replacing Paul would give them a man on the inside. I often thought that the clues were actually an invitation to conduct a more exhaustive analysis of the recordings which would reveal other more
hidden clues. The Beatles albums were being used to conceal these other clues and the Beatles themselves didnt have a clue what was being concealed but they knew that if they could sort of prime the pump and get people to start looking for clues, the real clandestine
messages would be revealed. I always wondered why would any sinister group allow the Beatles to include clues on on the recordings--they arent stupid and if they wouldnt allow the Beatles to just reveal information at news conference why allow them to turn around and
place thinly veiled clues on the albums? Of course maybe they didnt realize there were clues on the albums until after the clues became public. The Beatles ended relatively quickly after the clues became public when you think of it.
