This is really too much!!!! Read please: McCartney says his reputation suffered after Lennon's death billy McCartney says the death John Lennon has tended to overshadow his own contribution to music. He says that for certain people Lennon had achieved martyrdom after being shot dead by Mark Chapman in 1980. Speaking to CNN's Larry King Live, billy said there had been revisionism about his own role in The Beatles following Lennon's death. "You can't blame people. You know, there's a lot of sympathy. It was such a shocking way to go that you want to try and give him everything," he said. "But the trouble is there was a little bit of revisionism, where certain people were saying, 'Well, Paul, the only thing Paul ever did was book the studio'. That kind of thing gets a little bit up your nose. "What's happened since he died, for certain people, there's a martyrdom. "I heard an interview on the day he died where he said, 'The one last thing I want to ever be is a martyr'. Of course, that is what happened." NO COMMENT...... SORRY but The Ian cannot just let this one slide....
Faul displays his knack for self-centered, hypocritical Lennon-bashing which itself has reared it's vainglorious head with more frequency as each year without JOHN passes.
"Revisionism", Faul? You remain at the head of that line, buddy. Your self-stroke fest book 'Many years from now' didn't even veil the blatant revisionism coup as you self-servingly ran down every song; every chorus, every lyric line you laid claim to. It was SO transparent what you were trying to do, for me it was a sickening read.
Your equally pompous move to reverse the traditional credits on Beatles songs from 'Lennon/McCartney' to 'Mccartney/Lennon' was crass and uncouth. Your billions of dollars isn't enough, is it FAUL? You crave that every last shred of acknowledgement and back-patting. You yourself DISHONORED the memory of LENNON as you reniged upon the original agreement of publishing credits between PAUL & JOHN.
Oh well, stomp upon the back of a dead man..what can it hurt, eh Faul? All I can say is that you sure must be psyching yourself out in the long, powerful shadow cast by John...not by HOW HE DIED but through WHAT HE ACHIEVED while alive. You SO miss the point.
Deep down Faul, you know there were no 'Walruses' or 'Strawberry Fields' or even 'Imagines' for you. There was just mediocre drek and elevator muzak of the era.
THAT is the pebble in your shoe. Festering and haunting you. Instant Karma's gonna get you, Faul. Demonizing Lennon will not sell one extra copy of whatever product you're currently pushing.
Deleting 2 Lennon songs from the "reissue" of Let It Be" will not blow out his candle, Faul. You have made it a second career to devalue and hinder what Lennon achieved in 40 short years. How pathetic and petty. How intimidated you must be at the mere mention of his name: JOHN ONO LENNON. A musical genius. Now go stand beside your stone and beg for forgiveness....

Your kind gesture touches me, SUN KING.
Thank you. I of course would rather have the ugly situation of FAUL and all it has spawned simply not exist. But, it does, and we must deal with our reality...and when it gets crappy, and makes us angry or sad, we have a friend 'on the other side' who would pull his round glasses down his nose and look us in the eye and remind us: "NOTHING IS REAL."
